The Case of Alex Radita
This week, Drewby and Yergy head north to Canada to discuss the tragic case of Alex Radita, a young boy diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes as a toddler. The son of an immigrant family from Romania, Alex was denied his insulin and diabetic testing supplies. His parents, Emil and Rodica Radita, thought prayer would heal him and that he wasn't that sick. They outright refused to believe that Alex actually had diabetes. Of course, the prayer didn't work, and Alex succumbed to his illness at just 15 years old. Support Our Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/themiserymachine P...

It’s an extreme example of everything that’s wrong with hockey culture; hazing and abuse, sexual misconduct and the adult men who control the lives of teenage boys for their own monetary gain.F...

Justice with John Carpay
Justice with John Carpay Ep. 1
The Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms launches their podcast in the New Year as the Centre is in the news. In December, the University of British Columbia banned American journalist Andy Ngo from speaking to the local campus free speech club, and now the Justice Centre has sent UBC a letter threatening legal action. This leads host John Carpay and facilitator Kevin Steel into a discussion about cancel culture, a recent ruling in a University of Alberta trial, and many other cases involving the hard working crew at the Justice Centre.Theme Music "Carpay Diem" by Dave Stevens

The Crucible
“A situation of severe trial, or in which different elements interact, leading to the creation of something new.” In this week’s podcast, I talk about how we discern fact from fiction and why we need to balance our emotional reactions with critical thinking. Toronto City Council
Today on the Unpublished Cafe podcast: Is democracy under attack in Canada's largest city? Ontario's new government has turned upside down the upcoming Municipal Election in Toronto by announcing legislation to reduce the size of Toronto City Council from 47 this fall, to 25. As well, the Province is suspending the upcoming election of Regional Chairs in Peel, York and Muskoka riding (former OPC Leader Patrick Brown’s riding). Under the BNA Act of 1867, provinces have the power to make these changes. Municipalities are creatures of the Province . The Ontario gov't feels this move will save taxpayers about $25...
