Over €800k Funding Announced For Clare Renovation Projects
Over €800,000 in funding has been made available to renovate key buildings across Clare. Mountshannon is the biggest beneficiary where €500,000 has been allocated under the Town and Village Renewal Scheme to refurbish a 1940's community hall into a modern accessible theatre with a market space. Scariff is receiving €274,800 to redevelop a derelict building into a youth centre, while €50,000 is going to Miltown Malbay to expand a creative space in the former Bank of Ireland building. Clare Minister of State Timmy Dooley has been telling Clare FM's Daragh Dolan that it will revitalise local communities.

Ahead of the Christmas season, Rothaíochta na Sionnaine presented a timely gift to Down Syndrome Clare. Proceeds from the fourth annual Odd Socks Cycle totalled €21,723, warmly received by Down Syndrome Clare. A record 350 cyclists took part at the end of March. Participants completed 50km and 100km routes, starting in Shannon and taking in scenic East Clare. Over 12,000 Clare People Have Attended UHG Emergency Department In Three Years
Over 12,000 Clare people have attended the emergency department at University Hospital Galway in the last three years. New figures released by HSE Mid West to Mayor of Ennis, Fine Gael Councillor Mary Howard, show a total of 12,516 people with Clare addresses presented at the ED in Galway from the beginning of 2023 to the end of October of this year. The data also reveals that 3,436 Clare residents have travelled to the facility this year alone. 25 Road Traffic Collisions On Clare M18/N18 In Last Two Months
Transport Infrastructure Ireland recorded 25 road traffic collisions on the Clare stretch of the M18/N18 motorway between September and October. TII has commenced an investigation into the cause of the incidents and has stated that the 16 crashes recorded in September alone is "far above the monthly average" for the route.
