31_Holocaust Reflections
TRIGGER WARNING: I go into a bit of detail about the executions that are mentioned within the book. After reading "Night" by Elie Wiesel, I felt compelled to talk about the impact it made on me. I've read a few of these books that refer to, and recount, about the holocaust and I always feel a sense of travesty and gratitude after reading them.I found this book particularly quite confronting and eye opening as it makes you feel like you were there witnessing it for yourself. Grateful that Elie Wiesel had the courage to...

The Chair (Short Story)
I've been expanding my creative writing skills and attempting to write short stories! Here is the first one I've completed last year and hope to combine 10-12 short stories into one book. With this story, you step into a moment when a mother passes by her son's bedroom and she is drawn to interact with the chair that he used to occupy most of his time when playing video games with his friends. It's compelling when something that seems so insignificant and lifeless, can hold so much sentimental value when the one's we loved use to interact...

28_370Z Tribute
March 20th, 2023: Driving home after grocery shopping, blissfully listening to Kane Brown's album "Different Man" while eating chocolate, completely relaxed believing I was almost home from a long day, but completely ignorant of the fact that this would be the end of my long term relationship with my 370Z.To sum up my experience with this car in one word, it would be: sanctuary. Living with numerous housemates, working at different jobs, making friends and losing friends, this car was the rock between it all. The only time I could completely relax, feel safe, be myself without expectations or obligations...

27_Doing Vs Watching
"You know, if they did something like this, it would be way better." "There needs to be more events like this." "People need to put more effort in." We've all heard people say things like this before and we sometimes think "Well, if you see something that needs to be done, put up your hand and say that you volunteer to organise doing it." Are you a 'watcher' or a 'doer'? I encourage you to become a doer. Don't just stand there and complain about everything that could be better, or done right, and not do anything about it...

26_3 Things I'm Grateful My Parents Did
"What did you think you did right for all your children to still be in church?" This question was asked towards my mum one day and she was telling me her response to this question. I decided I wanted to answer this question from my perspective. There are many reasons of why we're all still in church, but I thought these 3 were the main ones.

Sometimes we blame God for bringing temptations into our lives, and other times we blame the devil for our temptations. But is really them? Or is it us? Do we bring on our own temptations because of our own desires?

From first impressions, some people believe me to be cocky, arrogant and full of myself. But after they get to know me, they realise I'm not like that at all. They realise that I'm confident, but they mistakenly believe it's in myself. This episode hopefully explains where my confidence is found and why.

21_Suicide
Suicide. It's a hard word to read, or even think about, sometimes. It can be uncomfortable for all of us, more so for others. But I feel we need to talk about it more. I'm not a doctor, therapist or counsellor. But this is my perspective of it from someone who has suicidal thoughts. Don't take it as "gospel", but as a conversation starter.

Pandemic (Spoken Poem)
This poem was three months in the making before I was able to feel satisfied of it's final draft. We think to believe that this Covid pandemic is the most costly. But the most costly and devestating pandemic...is our fear-driven ego reacting, rather than responding, to the perceived attacks towards ourselves. We are in this together. Literally. We are in the midst of the fight between hate and love. Amongst all our divided opinions, we are all participating in this stage of life. Act in love, or act in hate...we all still have that choice to make.

19_That's Just Not Me
Throughout life, people will constantly tell you how you "should" live life, how you "should" behave, how you "should" perform etc. And sometimes I get stuck in that web of expectations and not being able to move because I don't want to move and make someone upset. But I now question myself and go "Is that who I really am though?", and most of the time, after some deep contemplation, I realise...it's just not me.

18_For Something to Grow, Something Has to Die
In order for any part of us, whether it be mentally, physically, spiritually etc., something has to die. Something has to give. Growth can not occur if something has not been sacrificed. What's something you can sacrifice today that can allow something you really want, to grow.

17_Being Awesome!
Do you want to be average and just ok? Or do you want to be awesome!? We can drift through life with not really putting in our best effort, and average effort will only get us average results. Why not try being "awesome" in everything we do! Yes, including sleep! Having a chat with a good friend of mine, who is a primary school teacher, confirmed the concept of having a motto in our lives really brings self-awareness to our behaviour and makes us question ourselves right here in the present and challenges us if we're going to step...

14_I Will Be "Happy" When I'm Financially Secure
A lot of us, including myself in the past, put our dependency of "happiness/fulfillment/contentment" in the concept of financial security/freedom. It's a lie that's passed down from generation to generation. We're made to own the fear of "missing out" and to occupy most of our time with work so we don't miss out on the luxuries of "life". But this was never meant to be the case of our existence. How much of ourselves and of our lives are we willing to sacrifice...in the name of "success"?

After reading Jordan Peterson's book "12 Rules For Life: An Antidote to Chaos", I was enlightened of the common theme run through the book of "fixing yourself first" before trying to fix the world, or even passing judgment to those trying to fix the world. 03_Who or What Controls You?
In this episode I reflect on the concept of self-responsibility and how disempowering it can be when you expect or rely on people to make you happy or make you feel a certain way. Are we possessed by our materialistic things? Are we possessed by our relationships? Are we possessed by fear from stopping us being ourselves and possibly being ostricized by our peers? Tough questions we have to ask ourselves sometimes. Are we willing to lose ourselves for the comfort of having security in social status within our relationships by what we have?
