THE SERIES FINALE
The final episode of "Juskow in the City" but don't worry (cause I can tell you're worried) - we'll be back in the fall with a new name and an edgier podcast. It'll be hip and youthful and lots of animal acts. I only wish I could actually provide that. Yeah, it'll probably be the same BUT. . . whatcha gonna do. Thanks for listening for 529 episodes (and counting) when you combine all things Juskow. (All things Juskow will not be the name of the new show - or wait. . .hmmm). Hosted on Acast. His Only Show of the Year
Hello all. Today on a most exciting episode of Juskow in the City we talk about the Big Event at the Comedy Cellar that went spectacularly well (although you'd never know from the video of me doing comedy - which you can see if you're on patreon đ ). But everything the Comedy Cellar did to sabotage the show backfired and everyone was happy including the audience, the comics and the wait staff - and probably the Comedy Cellar eventually. Then the next night I had the exact opposite experience in Crooklyn. The Classic juxtaposition - today on Juskow in the City....

Dead Outlaw Part Deux
What a wonderful Wednesday it was here in NYC as I fully took advantage of living here and got the luxury of seeing 2 Broadway shows in one day. First our friend Josh Harmon and his new comedy drama "We Had a World", which was fantastic. Then 3 hours later, dinner with David Yazbek (the day before he was nominated for a Tony Award) and then his new musical "Dead Outlaw" as it moved to Broadway from the Off-Broadway theatre I had originally seen it in. A True Juskow in the City experience that can only be brought...

"The Acupuncturist" (Starring Gene Hackman)
The week began innocently enough at Don't Tell Mamas where the tables were turned on your pal Dave Juskow, but then an old army injury flared up again as my back just stopped working I guess. Enter the Acupuncturist. A friend's wife who's obviously nutty with this old mysticism like The Force. BUT, I was desperate so I gave it a try and TRIED extremely hard to concentrate knowing full well, it may not work if you don't give it your all. Unfortunately, an hour before the Acupuncture I found out my garage in Manhattan was closing for good. It's...

The Pre-Valentine's Purge
This pre-valentine's day week crashes and burns as everyone cancels but it all turns out into an interesting weekend. I got to spend time with the Dave Juskow of the last generation (except he's rich). Damnit. I've gotta work on that. Also, Super Bowl Sunday at Elon and his wife's apt. I thought they were having a super bowl party but they only invited me. "Do you want us to order Thai food?" For Super Bowl Sunday? What is happening!?? Uh oh. All will be explained on this week's exciting episode of Juskow in the City. Hosted on Acast...

Ladies and Gentlemen, You're Attention Please
This week - a desperate call for help to me to bring Sarah Silverman up on stage at the Beacon Theater in NYC for her Netflix taping two hours before the show. Listen this week to find out what happens. Also a double dip of Dave Attell birthday shin digs and an additional birthday with Baba Booey. What a week of comedy, without actually doing any comedy. THE 500TH EPISODE w/Dave Attell, Nick Griffin & Russ Meneve
The 500th Episode of the combined Dave Juskow podcasts - The Spread, The Nightfly and Juskow in the City. For this episode I decided to record it with my other weekly YouTube Show at the Comedy Cellar (Comedy Cellar Tuesdays with Dave Juskow). So joining me on this episode recorded Tuesday December 10, 2024 are Dave Attell, Nick Griffin and Russ Meneve. We really had a great time recording this. Later in the episode I put up pictures of old comedians we either started with or were ahead of us when we first started to see if we could guess their...

The 499th Episode. But it's just what'd you'd get in a normal Juskow in the City, cause why change genius? Am I right? This week a pigeon flies into my coat while I'm riding the bike (I thought we had a deal!); an awful comedy club xmas party; the student that came to dinner & Wicked! Next week -- the big 500th! Happy Holidays! If you notice the Season and Episodes changed on top it's because I've been using just how long we've been doing the Juskow in the City moniker. The Bodega Cat Whisky Challenge
The new president was announced last week and it's another four year nightmare for Dave Juskow as my Trump Tower Parking Garage will once again become a logistical nightmare. Sigh. So with that being said, I was going to take the PATH train to Hoboken but somebody got murdered so apparently there's no way to get anywhere anymore. It's over folks. See you in 2028. (but we'll still have fun đ ) - like my incredible Arthur imitation where some girl thought I was actually British and that wasted. Classic Hosted on Acast. Welcome to Professor Juskow's 1981 in film. This episode's class will cover all the action of the year 1981. We're talking about An American Werewolf in London and how it changed make-up in motion pictures forever; Stripes - which would set up the pairing of Ivan Reitman, Harold Ramis and Bill Murray for the blockbuster Ghostbusters; the little known Looker - written and directed by Jurassic Park author Michael Creighton and way ahead of it's time with talk of AI and how it would effect the future; Oliver Stone's first written and directed film with Michael Caine called The Hand; and...

The Blue Note/Comedy Cellar One Two Punch
My Birthday show at the Comedy Cellar at 6:00 pm on a Tuesday night was a sold out classic of epic proportions. The energy was incredible, the lineup was stellar and the "this is your life" Juskow crowd was the greatest way I've celebrated a birthday in a long time. Juskow at Tiffany's
This week our hero goes into the famous Tiffany's in New York City to purchase two graduation gifts and finds more than he bargained for. And, although that sounds intriguing when written like a movie tagline, it, of course, just means everything was much more expensive then I bargained for. Duh. BUT, it's an experience at Tiffany's, which is only what a podcast called, Juskow in the City can bring you. On the flip side of that, a graduation BBQ with no beer!!! Worst party EVER! The Rolling Stones/Who Weekend
Seeing The Rolling Stones for the first time was quite the thrill but getting to MetLife Stadium to see them called for an appearance by everyone's favorite character, Juskadan. And clearly all the people that kept yelling out my name at the concert means Juskadan is truly a fan favorite. And to continue legendary bands from the 60's Saturday night was "Tommy" on Broadway. Also, some touristy stuff for the tourists that were in town to visit so Juskow in the City can keep its namesake and then of course does Juskow in the City exclusively mean New York City...

David Sanborn Was Cool
The Nightfly is back to do a tiny tribute to the great David Sanborn and some of his influence, especially his work with the great Dave Grusin, Sting, David Bowie and David Juskow (I added my name in to make another David reference - I should see if he worked with Dave Grohl -- although I do have a clip of him on David Letterman - SO. . . we're good). Juskow in the City is thinking of moving to the State of West Virginia - I mean, probably not but did you know it's only 4½ hours away from NYC? I didn't know that. Also, I have dinner with showrunner of One Day at a Time on Netflix, Mike Royce who confesses he told Dave Attell to give up comedy in 1988. Today being Passover Professor Juskow takes a lesson plan page out of my class and we discuss films released in 1982. Although I think I forgot 1981 hilariously (we'll get back to it) there certainly is a treasure trove to discuss. We'll discuss the hilarious Morgan Fairchild vehicle, The Seduction; the awful sequel to Grease, Grease 2 and the classics, or at least the Juskow classics, Al Pacino in Author, Author and the Mel Brooks inspired, My Favorite Year. The All the Presidents Parking Predicament
Three Presidents past and present came into town this week and I know the first thing you thought of was "how would this affect Dave Juskow of Juskow in the City?" - and I appreciate that. Well, it was a nightmare, as usual. I thought they all hated New York City (except for Clinton), why do they bother me? Don't You Even Know Who My Father Is?
On today's episode of Juskow in the City, we head down to West 11th Street in the Greenwich Village twice this week for a restaurant that has been there since 1919 and I've never been to or heard of and yet I was there twice in five days. One of them was to celebrate the G.O.A.T.'s birthday, Dave Attell. In the big year end finale of Juskow in the City, once again we travel to NJ to see my sister play Tree No. 1 in the worst production of the Wizard of Oz since my niece performed it in Junior High. Plus, having to drive through an unforgiving rain storm to get there. Also, my brother-in-law makes experimental Latkes, filming a model's movie, my cleaning lady making fun of too many quizzes I'm giving my students as a professor, eating subs on the turnpike and a new gas cap. Professor Juskow's 1980 in Film
Today on the podcast Professor Juskow takes a lesson plan page out of my class and we discuss most of the horrid films released in 1980. It's basically to prove my point that most 80's films are awful, besides the Star Wars and a handful that made it out of there. And, of course, don't get me wrong, I love most of them - we all do - but they mostly don't stand the test of time. Drunk Between the Moon and Juskow in the City
On the big season finale -- the final birthday show. I think it's been three weeks of celebration. Dumb and Dubliners
On today's episode Juskow in the City travels to Dublin to see their take on the Club Sandwich. I only wish I were kidding (about the Club Sandwich) but not about going to Dublin. Going on a journey with the Roastmaster General, Sir Jeffrey Ross, looking for love and Guinness. On this episode of Juskow in the City -- Juskow is getting to sour on the City. The pride parade becomes maddening when Sarah Silverman and I are asked to take a subway so we can cross Fifth Avenue. This does not sit well with either of us. And take your pick on any parade that makes you do that. Grrrr. So I purchased a CB Radio Microphone. Just the Microphone. It's attached to nothing in the car but I love recreating scenes from Smokey & The Bandit in my car by myself. Although it's true, Russ has a very strict and strange eating regiment, he explains why it works for him and how maybe it could work for me -- although I doubt it.
