Another improv tip
One of the funny things about taking improv classes is that they "teach us how to have fun." It's a funny paradox - this idea of learning "the rules" of how to "make stuff up" but I think it's good for everyone. Unless you have a keen analytical mind, you will probably benefit from having someone point out various tricks and tips for improvising. Those with years in the industry have observed what works. It's not that "negating" your partner(s) is wrong 100% of the time (some may argue it is) but to me, it's...

Another subtle role-playing tip for your table
Some of us don't know how to participate in "scene work" and really get into character, but we keep trying and here's a tip on something you can implement dating back to the Diablo One-Shot

Why even roll
There are abilities, feats, features, etc. that guarantee success, so why should they roll?

"What should we do"
A couple of the players have a problem with not contributing to the scene. If you're not making statements and decisions, if you're not taking your own risks, if you're not showing any effort to grow in your scene work, then you're not playing. You're watching. You're a fan, which is great; there's a lot of us, but you don't deserve to be a famous player on this, the greatest of all DnD shows, as a spectator.

Discussing Plans "Out of Character"
When players are discussing strategy...how is that different than doing it as the characters?....and if it is, then isn't that metagaming?

Do we know how poorly we rolled?
Ep. 132 - One of the players ask if the party would know how "un"stealthy they are moving. I contest that the player is asking for permission to metagame (not that they are ever really asking)...

I'm an awful DM
In this episode, I vent about my own failure as a DM. I'd say I deserve to thrash myself with regularity after some of the things I've said about CR.

My last installment concerning Ep. 130. I fixate on recent encounters with the Stormlord and how each player has a duty to contribute to the scene.

Interparty Drama
A short burst of emotion keys us in on a conflict within the group. I get to chat briefly about the relationship of the players vs. the characters. Most people enjoy the drama of the characters. I get a little perverse satisfaction when the players let their guards down and I see what they are really thinking about each other. Hopefully I get a chance to talk about the conflict between two other members soon.

How long should each player's turn take? Why do some players have the ability to decide their action by the time it's their turn while others seem paralyzed by it?

Rerolling Failures
In episode 129, there were two moments that happened in succession when the players wanted to make the same check that someone had just failed. Is this our most creative reaction to rolling poor?

Session 2 - My "Man Apology"
After realizing my name is probably on this podcast, I back-peddle into somewhat of a persona I prefer to project in public. I've not been good to take care of my name, so this probably does very little for me among anyone who would know me, and anyone who doesn't would likely find it easier to right me off than to consider a second chance. Either way, for what it's worth, I was humbled by the notion that my anonymous comments aren't anonymous, and that I can't just say or think whatever I want to think and...
