JURNAL MAKASSAR – Wahana Lingkungan Hidup Indonesia (WALHI) Regional Sulawesi merilis catatan akhir tahun terkait aktivitas perusakan lingkungan sepanjang 2021. Dari sejumlah faktor yang menyebabkan kerusakan, ekspansi tambang nikel di Pulau Sulawesi paling disorot.
Direktur Eksekutif WALHI Sulsel, Muhammad Al Amin mengatakan, kondisi existing luasan Izin Usaha Pertambangan nikel di Pulau Sulawesi terdiri dari 87 ribu hektar lebih di Sulsel, 92 ribu hektar di Sulawesi tengah dan 510 ribu hektar lebih di Sulawesi tenggara.
