The Kill Power Hour
The Kill Power Hour #074 - Eric's 4th List
Season three comes to an end with our last entry to the "Here is a list" theme being provided by none other than the man with no brother, our host Eric. Eric's fourth list covers everything from jobs we'd be terrible at, the pro's and con's of freelancing, locking the door/holding the door, printed matter, public access and our last meals (don't worry, Tucker doesn't pick pizza). This is the last episode--enjoy!

The Kill Power Hour #073 - Tucker's 4th List
Tucker's 4th and final list cements the fact that we are in the midst of a full-blown mid-life crisis. Old man topics include morning routines, why we wake up at 2:30AM to pee, relatable animals and plastic surgery. Oh, and don't forget to check out Fenton's Horse Ranch!

The Kill Power Hour #072 - Tyler's 4th List
Tyler admits he's tapped out but rallied to provide us with his fourth and final list. Tyler's topics take us from overpriced beers to underwhelming gifts. Tucker does a quick TED-talk on coffee, we find out that Tyler has no free time nor way of keeping track of it, and my favorite discovery is that all of us sleep with our arms folded across our chest, ala "vamipire style". We're bringing back pre-gaming, baby--stash those beers in your coat!

Continuing with our "here is a list" theme for season 3, Eric brings his third list to the table with a collection of deep thoughts and deeper thoughts as the boys discuss bones, our worst jobs, how to feed a large group of people, the scariest things we've done, and the little ways we treat ourselves. And just a word of advice: don't look at pictures of skulls on the Internet all day--it'll change the way you see people. Enjoy!

In a purposeful attempt to veer away from the "old man rants" on previous episodes, Tucker asks some probing questions to get a variety of answers, including the lost art of crapsmithing. The Kill Power Hour #061 - How Could Hell Be Any Worse? (1982)
In 1982, two of us were toddlers and one of us hadn't even existed yet, but Bad Religion still went ahead and released their first record which just so happens to be Tucker's favorite album of all time. It's raw California punk by way of Wisconsin, and it's also an exceptionally long compilation album on the streamers, so so we mainly focus on the original release. Tucker and Tyler are die-hards for Bad Religion, but Eric is still on the fence--we'll see if the conclusion of this Masterclass on the BR discography sways his opinions at all. To no one's surprise, Tyler caps off his list of top-ten albums with Bad Religion, notably their 5th studio album "Against the Grain". After referencing no less than three dictionaries, thesauruses and encyclopedias, we're finally able to discuss the lyrical content of Graffin & Gurewitz's theses, sorry--"songs", as well as speculate about what contemporary political protest bands are out there. It takes Tucker and Tyler a while to come to the collage aesthetic that Pollard and his drinking buddies employ, but they can't deny the power of a good melody and some fist-pumping tunes. In 1995, Gary Grice, AKA the Genius AKA the GZA AKA the Jizzer, released what most would agree is the strongest solo album from any of the Wu-Tang Clansmen. If you listen closely in between the scratchy kung-fu samples and non-stop appearances from the rest of the Wu-Tang clan, you can almost see the GZA's stories unfold before you. Tucker's pick for 3rd best album of all-time is rock-solid and Eric and Tyler connect the dots with tracks by Mobb Deep and Nas. Enjoy "Rap Week" on the Kill Power Hour!

Tyler's 4fth favorite album of all time is probably his most emo pick, but that's what happens when your older brother gives you Minidiscs. While this self-titled release from Smith isn't his first record, it does mark his debut on Kill Rock Stars, a label name that Smith took way too literally. There's something to be said about playing in a band with your ex. Tucker picks a somewhat obscure release for his 5th favorite album of all-time. The Minneapolis chamber-folk band Dark Dark Dark was caught in the middle of ending a romantic relationship between two of its members while recording this album. Yikes! All that tension makes for some uneasy listening, but the music is actually quite beautiful. Tyler manages to connect this to an even-more obscure release by Joey Cape while Eric sticks to the basics with Leonard Cohen.

The Kill Power Hour #015 - You Only Live Twice (1967)
Sex(ism) sells and Tyler is fully sold on his 6th favorite movie of all time--a James Bond classic. Eric finally realizes where Austin Powers got all of its references from and Tucker tries to piece together his notes between falling asleep and folding laundry. Everyone is impressed by the watermelon budget.

The Kill Power Hour #014 - Rushmore (1998)
Wes Anderson's early work holds a special place in Eric's heart & Rushmore brings together a solid cast (the return of Bill Murray!) with an amazing soundtrack. Tucker largely agrees but Tyler thinks Anderson peaks later in his career. Fortunately, Tyler's opinions no longer matter after making us watch Rhinestone--enjoy!

The Kill Power Hour #013 - After the Thin Man (1936)
From the depths of a pizza binge in 2009, Tucker discovered this series of whodunnit films from the 1930's that apparently made a big enough impression on him to include one on his top ten list. If you can get past the fact that everyone talks like a Looney Tunes gangster, you'll be rewarded with a fantastic performance by Jimmy Stewart of someone losing their mind. Tyler and Eric try to keep theirs as they unravel the most convoluted plot they've ever seen.

The Kill Power Hour #012 - Rhinestone (1984)
It's only #7 on Tyler's top ten list, but Rhinestone could easily be the #1 worst movie made in the 80's--so much so that the two stars, Sylvester Stallone and Dolly Parton, are loath to acknowledge it. But the Kill Power crew manages to turn these hog nuggets into gold and even come up with a much better ending to the movie. Stallone: take note!

The Kill Power Hour #011 - All The President's Men (1976)
Robert Redford & Dustin Hoffman share the screen in this procedural film about the breaking of the Watergate scandal. Eric fans out over his 7th favorite movie while he struggles to make it seem interesting to Tyler, who has never read a newspaper in his life, and Tucker, who seems more interested in lapels than the actual plot.

The Kill Power Hour #010 - Batman Returns (1992)
Only Tim Burton would star one of the most attractive characters of all time against one of the most disgusting, and only Tucker would pick that as his 7th favorite movie of all time. In addition to Catwoman and the Penguin, we cover pretty much every aspect of this early superhero movie, in all of its Cobblepot glory. Meow.

The Kill Power Hour #009 - The 36th Chamber of Shaolin (1978)
Tyler's 8th favorite movie of all time is a little-known kung-fu prequel to American Gladiators. We go through every single chamber in painstaking detail, so get ready and strap on your bells as we discuss The 36th Chamber of Shaolin.

The Kill Power Hour #008 - Con Air (1997)
This action-packed Bruckheimer production features an all-star cast along with some of the worst hair and southern accents to ever grace the silver screen. Eric's 8th favorite film of all time is riddled with plot holes, but you're really just supposed to focus on the explosions and jokes. Don't forget to put the bunny back in the box.

The Kill Power Hour #007 - Lovers Rock (2020)
Tucker walks us through his 8th favorite movie of all time, but Tyler and Eric find the "movie" label unconvincing. Steve McQueen must have been channeling the spirit of a HP LaserJet printer because this movie is JAMMING.

The Kill Power Hour #006 - Cleopatra (1963)
We all had to take a half-day at work in order to watch Tyler's 9th favorite movie of all time, the 4+ hour epic Cleopatra. Tyler is blown away by the sets and extras while Tucker and Eric focus more on Elizabeth Taylor's costumes. Send in another turtle!

The Kill Power Hour #005 - Stalker (1979)
We collectively slog through the beautiful & nap-inducing Stalker, the 1979 slow burn by Andrey Tarkovsky, which happens to be Eric’s 9th favorite film of all time. Eric tries his best to argue that this is important and artistic film, but Tucker & Tyler get hung up on the lack of pizza and the English language, respectively.

The Kill Power Hour #004 - Transformers (1986)
Get ready for a masterclass in Transformers facts as Tucker walks us through his 9th favorite movie of all time, the 1986 animated commercial—sorry—“movie”, Transformers. We love a kids flick where the hero gets smoked in the first act while several Stan Bush classics dominate the soundtrack. Also, this movie is a fitting bookend to Orson Welles’ career as I can’t think of another film more unlike Citizen Kane.

Kevin Smith had it right when he protested his own movie: Dogma is dog sh!t. It's also Tyler's 10th favorite movie of all time. We bond over our shared love of George Carlin & Chris Rock and our equally shared hatred of Ben Affleck.

The Kill Power Hour #002 - Dead Alive
Eric chooses the absolutely disgusting 1992 film “Braindead” (Dead Alive in North America) as his 10th favorite movie. Tucker reenacts the grunting mom in the grossest way and Tyler’s hatred of New Zealanders is on full display. We all wonder how much this movie influenced Mortal Kombat or if it was the other way around.
