Umar رضي الله عنه made the dua aloud to prepare his daughter for his coming martyrdom.
When Umar رضي الله عنه was severely wounded, Hafsah رضي الله عنها entered the room and said: “O companion of our Messenger ﷺ, O father in law of our Messenger ﷺ, O Ameer ul Mumineen!”. Umar رضي الله عنه, in the state he was in, still told his daughter رضي الله عنها to not praise a man for what he doesn’t deserve…
