In Part 2 of our conversation, we dive into the politics of privacy, the afterlife of European modernism, and the spatial logic of neoliberalism. Her new book, We Have Never Been Private: The Housing Project in Neoliberal Europe (Actar Publishers), interrogates the fiction of privacy—not as a universal right, but as a spatial ideology rooted in segregation, individualization, and the instrumentalization of housing as a tool of economic control.

Dr. RR Baliga’s Philosophical Discourses: Heraclitus (Greece, c. 535–475 BCE) – Pre-Socratic Philosopher
Heraclitus (c. 500 BC), a pre-Socratic philosopher from Ephesus, is renowned for his doctrine of perpetual change and the unity of opposites, encapsulated in the phrase “Everything flows” and “No man ever steps in the same river twice.” His concept of logos as the rational order of the universe influenced ancient and modern philosophy, including thinkers like Plato, Aristotle, and Hegel. Known as “the dark” philosopher for his cryptic style and paradoxical ideas, Heraclitus viewed strife as fundamental to justice and saw fire as the primal element of existence. Heraclitus (HINDI/हिंदी में)
Heraclitus was a Greek philosopher who lived around 535 BCE. His most famous idea is that "everything is in a state of change." According to Heraclitus, nothing stays the same forever; everything is constantly changing. He believed that change is the only constant in the universe. This idea is called "Panta Rhei," which means "everything flows." For Heraclitus, even though things appear stable on the surface, they are always transforming underneath.Heraclitus' philosophy helps us understand the world in a new way. He challenges us to see life not as something fixed but as something that is always moving and...

In this episode, Nathan and Daniel delve into the life and philosophy of Heraclitus, one of the most influential philosophers of the pre-Socratic era. Known as 'Heraclitus the Obscure' or 'The Riddler', Heraclitus is famous for his notion of the continuous change in the universe, encapsulated in phrases like 'everything is in flux' and 'you cannot step into the same river twice'. His use of the concepts of fire and logos to explain change and order in the universe set the foundations for later philosophical thought, influencing figures like Plato, Aristotle, and even Christian theology. 85: Philosophy in the Tragic Age of the Greeks, pt. 1 - Thales, Anaximander, Heraclitus
Philosophy in the Tragic Age of the Greeks is one of the more obscure texts in Friedrich Nietzsche’s corpus. There are many good reasons for this: it is unfinished, and ends abruptly; it was never published; and it concerns subject matter that is not as immediately accessible as Nietzsche’s more popular writings. You will not find his major concepts in this work – such as the will to power, or the critique of metaphysics - except insofar as those ideas appear in the background, inchoate, unnamed… not yet fully formed. In Nietzsche’s interpretation of the Pre-Platonic philosophers of Ancient Gr...

Or rather, they both agreed that life is absurd, but while Heraclitus saw the whole existence as a tragedy, Democritus however thought of it as a comedy 🤡 In this episode I discuss both these worldviews and try to find out whether we should laugh or rather cry about th...

The Philosopher's Philosopher | Heraclitus of Ephesus | Presocratic Philosophy
The Presocratic Heraclitus of Ephesus is a philosopher's philosopher. His work was beloved by Socrates, Plato, Hegel, Nietzsche and Heidegger. The philosopher from Ephesus is commonly known as the philosopher of fire (thanks to Aristotle) or, for those with a little more nuance, he is known as the philosopher of panta rei or flux — of constant never-ending change. But there is another side of Heraclitus's philosophy that is less talked about and that is his philosophy of Logos. This element of the Presocratic philosopher's work was taken up by the Gospel writer John who opened his Gospel wit...

5: Heraclitus & The Pre-Platonic Philosophers
Today, we’re going to delve for the first time into one of Nietzsche’s influences. Heraclitus is known for his sayings such as “Everything flows”, and “One cannot step into the same river twice.” Heraclitus lived during a time before philosophy was well-defined as a discipline, and before there were well-known philosophical schools in Greece. Nietzsche had his own fascinating theories about the philosophers who lived before Plato, and we cannot understand his inspiration from Heraclitus without understanding how he perceived the Pre-Platonics: as archetypal philosophers, who dared to uniquely define their own style of philosophical thought. This was the greatnes...

Leadosophy: Episode 29 - "Heraclitean Friday"
Episode 29 Leadosophy borrows some ideas and pithy quotes from Heraclitus, a pre-socratic Greek philosopher who lived over two millennia ago. Leadosophy uses an ebook titled, "Fragments: The Collected Wisdom of Heraclitus" which was translated by Brooks Haxton; with a foreword by James Hillman. It's important to note that Heraclitus's only known work, "On Nature" never survived intact, so his translated words are second, third, and even fourth-hand accounts of his original written work. Leadosophy is the fusion of leadership and philosophy, and Tim is a philosopher so he likes to randomly discuss philosophical works, and he may be guilty of...

In this brain-tingling episode, hear more from Peter Kingsley, as well as Casey's better-than-average hot take on what Heraclitus was all about. Do I have a Philosophy degree? Am I qualified to have authority on this topic? No. Do I have a serious opinion about it, yes. Heraclitus was a shaman, just like Parmenides and Socrates -- and that's the main thing. Comparing "what they said" is a mid-wit thing to do. It's like contrasting the different homily styles of 13th century Roman Catholic priests, and declaring that two of the "were total opposites" -- completely forgetting that they shared...

Salam! #Koreksi: Heraclitus lebih...

He expressed this thought in a famous epigram: "No man ever steps into the same river twice." Heraclitus is often considered an enigmatic thinker, and much of his work is complex and puzzling. He was critical of the poets Homer and Hesiod, whom he considered to be ignorant, and accused the mathematician Pythagoras (who may have been his contemporary) of making things up.
