「該捨諸有止無求，不為自己求安樂，但願眾生得離苦」這是佛菩薩的慈行悲願，而我們之所以是眾生，差別就在於我們老是放不下，而且不斷地發展欲求。師父上人在此次法堂中，讓我們了解「欲求」所衍生的問題和其嚴重性，相對地，也教導了「革除物欲」的重要性，特別是它還關連到「真誠」的層面，因為「格物」是「真誠」的基礎，意思是一個人存在於人世間只要有「欲望」這件事情就不可能真誠，而這當中又相關於執著、分別、妄想，方方面面均是學法之人必須了解與警惕的。

學修有三個主要的條件跟概念，就是正確的方向、正確的理論和正確的方法，而正確的態度也很重要，那就是「老實」，一切學修未有不老實而能成就的。所以，師父上人在此次法堂上對於正確的理論、方法、方向有著深入地開示，甚至學法的捷徑也教導我們了。
師父上人也提醒著，所謂是「行善生福，持戒得定，依定開慧，慧解眾困」。如果我們不是走戒、定、慧的路徑，那等於白修了，因為行善固然生福，但禍福相依，常常是「禍盡福生，福盡禍來」，這一件事情讓我們在六道輪迴求出無期，生生世世都這麼一回事。
至於一個學佛的人真正的目標在於何處？僅止於身體健康、財富豐足、關係融洽、工作順利、壽終正寢而已嗎？所謂發菩提心又是什麼？「富貴修道難，貧賤修道難」，師父上人說夾在中間階層反倒是學佛最有福報的人，但有福報的人該如何把握而力爭上游呢？此次法堂的內容層面極廣、發人深省，而若能把目標訂在最高處，一路走來始終如一，佛言：若能不退初心，成佛有餘！2016-09-241h 14
