Black, 1856-1938)，他是美國賓州衛理公會的詩班指揮、主日學老師與青年團契輔導。有天前往郵局的路上，他選擇走一條平常不會走的捷徑。當進入一條巷子，看到一位大約十三歲左右的女孩，全身髒兮兮，滿臉愁容。他立刻向前詢問對方， 「孩子，妳去教會嗎？」 「沒有，先生。我沒有適合的衣服。」女孩子回答。 「妳叫什麼名字？」巴萊克(James M.
