快樂是會傳染的Happiness Is Contagious 跟快樂的人在一起,會更快樂,快樂是有感染力的。當你感到快樂的時候,記得感謝你的朋友,還有他們的朋友們,因為他們可能是你快樂的源頭。美國哈佛醫學院與加州大學聖地牙哥分校合作的研究發現,快樂就像是一種情緒傳染病,是藉由社交網絡傳播的集體現象,並非個人可以獨自修練而得。這項歷時20年的研究計劃,研究對象將近5000人,研究結果,刊登在《英國醫學期刊》。研究人員發現,快樂的情緒,可以傳染給三層的社交關係,也就是,一個人的快樂,不僅會感染與他接觸的親友們,還能再傳染給他的親友們的親友,及他們的親友。美國教育心理學家庫寧(Jacob Kounit)亦提出「漣漪效應」(Ripple Effect),即「模仿效應」。如果一群人中有人快樂,其他人會隨之模仿,就如同在平靜的湖水裡,扔進一塊石頭,所產生的漣漪,會漸漸擴大一樣。「漣漪效應」被運用在教育學、經濟學或社會學等不同領域,也用來形容團體中的情緒感染。大家都相信,會議中,如果有人大笑,其他人也會不自覺地跟著大笑。在畢業典禮現場,如果有畢業生放聲大哭,漸漸地,其他畢業生的情緒,也會潰堤而相擁哭泣,團體間的情緒感染,無所不在。 我們大腦的鏡像神經元,是同理心的來源。看到別人腿上有蜘蛛在爬,自己的腿,也會感覺發癢;看到別人痛哭,不知怎地,自己心頭也酸了起來。夏威夷大學心理學家哈特菲爾德(Elaine Hatfield),針對人與人間微妙的情緒交流,進行研究,發現人們的情緒,是不斷地相互傳遞,並於1994年與另兩位心理學家卡西奧普(John Cacioppo)及瑞普生(Richard Rapson)合作,編著《情緒感染》(Emotional Contagion),提出人與人間的相互情緒影響,稱為「情緒感染」。 在社交活動間,我們發送的情緒訊號,會對周遭的人產生影響,有時看到別人的情緒表達,便會引發自身相同的感受,而我們也可能在無意間,同步模仿另一個人的表情聲調、姿態動作,甚或對方的情緒感受。大腦中有數以千億的神經元(神經細胞),其中鏡像神經元(mirror neuron)讓人們在情感上,與他人產生共鳴且感同身受。鏡像神經元廣泛地分布在兩個大腦半球的重要區域,包括前運動皮質,和頂葉下方皮質內,它既是運動神經元,也是感覺神經元。鏡像神經元即使只是在觀看他人正在執行動作,也會在腦中被激活,讓我們感受或理解他人的舉動,這是情緒傳染、同理心或同情心的來源。由於情緒會經由鏡像神經元相互感染,如果同事分享開心趣事時,我們會自然地報以笑容;相反地,如果辦公室充斥著抱怨的負面聲浪,也肯定會打擊員工的士氣與效率的。 印度的卡塔利亞醫生(Dr. Madan Kataria)於1995年成立一個以大笑為宗旨的社團「愛笑俱樂部」,他認為,即使是假笑,也能引發真笑,於是推廣結合大笑與腹式呼吸的「愛笑瑜伽」,集體以拍手、跳舞或用滑稽的表情,讓笑聲傳遞出去,用大笑來紓緩肌肉壓力、提振精神、促進血中含氧量,刺激大腦分泌快樂的荷爾蒙--多巴胺與血清素,且提升免疫系統。目前「愛笑俱樂部」已遍佈70多個國家,且成立超過6000個推廣「愛笑瑜伽」的社團。它不但是個自我補充正能量的好方法,許多受苦於壓力相關疾病的人,也因此而改善健康。正向情緒會創造良性的人際互動,如果能時時保持笑容,來感染他人,在工作或生活中,往往能得到更好的成效。真心的笑容,是快樂心境的結果。當我們知足感恩地去體驗生命的美好,身心都實踐並沐浴在愛與光中時,所散發出的真誠笑容,更是給朋友最好的禮物。《周易.繫辭》用「物以類聚,人以群分」,來形容志向或個性相似的人,會聚在一起,其實,在能量的相互積累中,朋友間也會互相影響與改變。要營造正向快樂的生活,除了用主動積極的態度外,讓自己做個快樂製造機,多結交正向的朋友,也能讓快樂加乘,在正向的情緒感染中,我們會發現快樂之鑰,就在自己的手中。 當我們決定做一個快樂的人時,我們就是大家的影子,周圍的朋友,也會因為我們而快樂。研究顯示,只要我們的另一半快樂,我們就有8%的機會,感到快樂,如果我們的同性好友,天天都很快樂,我們被傳染快樂的比例,高達25%,甚至,如果我們有快樂的鄰居,我們會跟著快樂的比例,更高達34%。已經登陸台灣的「愛笑瑜伽」,早就紅遍全美國,結合呼吸方式,和臉部表情的瑜伽,可以讓老爺爺、老奶奶減少皺紋,達到回春功效,重點是,笑久了,還會讓人心情愉快、降低壓力。我們是自己生活的主角,我們快樂了,才能把快樂「傳染」給別人。「愛笑瑜伽」創辦人說:「我們不需要有幽默感才笑,也不需要特別開心,當你笑的時候,幽默感就來了,喜悅由內而生。」簡單笑一笑,就能得到快樂,自己快樂,還能傳染給別人,多簡單、多棒。 同理心,從表情的感受開始。當然,人類不僅僅是透過面部表情進行溝通;我們還有思想、文字和肢體動作,也能刺激大腦的鏡像系統。如果我們和某人相處很長時間,閱讀很多書報,或是與不同的人,進行多次互動,而這些人都表現出相似的情緒特徵,那麼,即使是很小的影響,也會累積起來。心想可以事成,而心態決定了身體極限,快樂的心念,就像呼吸一樣,無所不在。大腦並非是被動的觀察者,大腦意念,其實是會主動地創造世界的。重點並不在於「改變」事情的後果,而在於「影響」。例如,很多人都聽過「棉花糖實驗」,能夠延宕滿足。要求自己晚一點吃棉花糖的孩子,長大以後,成功的機率,較其他孩子來得高。信念成功改變了孩子當下做的決定,而事實上,累積小信念,是足以影響人的一生的。自己快樂,不只是自己個人能快樂而已,還會讓全世界、全人類都快樂,何樂而不為呢?具有快樂心態的人,在任何情況下,都能與快樂相伴。有一次,美國前總統羅斯福的家中失竊,丟失了許多財物。一位朋友知道後,立刻寫信安慰他,勸他不要太難過。羅斯福給這位朋友回信說:「親愛的朋友,謝謝你來安慰我,我現在很平安,感謝生活。因為:第一,賊偷去的是我的東西,而沒傷害我的生命,值得高興;第二,賊只偷去我的部分東西,而不是全部,值得高興;第三,最值得慶幸的是,做賊的是他,而不是我。」對於任何人來說,被盜絕對是一件不幸的事,但是,羅斯福卻找出三個值得慶幸的理由來快樂。正所謂:「塞翁失馬,焉知非福。」我們應該在不利的因素中。看到有利的一面,在消極的因素中,看到積極的一面,這是生活中的大智慧。日常生活如此,職場也是如此。想要在煩躁沉重的工作中,尋找快樂,並不容易,但我們可以換一個角度,去發現快樂的因素。我們可以樹立積極的工作態度,想像每天都是新的工作,每天都有新的收穫,這樣,我們每天都會很快樂。當老闆向我們發脾氣時,要明白自己錯在何處,避免下次再犯;工作任務太重時,我們要學會用積極的心態去應對,如此,我們就會感覺,工作並沒有想像中的那麼枯燥乏味;我們每天微笑著面對工作,同事就會被我們傳染,會願意親近我們,與我們交往,我們的人際關係,就會更融洽。正向的鼓舞,與肢體語言,是人際互動最好的媒介。「掌聲鼓勵─熱烈一點:愛的鼓勵」、「掌聲響起─皆大歡喜:十全十美」,發揮聲音的魅力,大聲唱出歡迎歌,很快就能拉近人與人之間的距離。熱情能給人快樂,我們要學習正向思考、服務與感恩。常常,人們不著痕跡的笑話,不管會心一笑,或是開懷大笑,總會讓人精神愉悅。學習讓自己快樂,具有快樂能力,永遠充滿感激、保持樂觀,是快樂的最佳方法。正面思考、發揮所長和多做善事,一定可以讓自己很快樂,因為,快樂絕對是具有感染的。 笑,是快樂的催化劑。發自內心的笑,可以降低「壓力荷爾蒙」皮質醇,同時刺激腦部分泌安多酚(endorphin),令人產生愉悅的感覺,是最簡單、直接的減壓方法。重要的是,笑有極強的感染力,當看到別人笑容或聽到笑聲,大腦負責控制表情的區域,就會做出自然反應,令人由心而發地笑顏逐開。所以,不要吝嗇我們的笑容,笑一笑,世界更美妙!跟陌生人,也可以相視而笑,但如果是家人、朋友、另一半的話,何不靠近多一點?給對方一個抱抱吧!兩個人相擁時,身體會釋放「擁抱荷爾蒙」催產素(oxytocin),除了讓人感到放鬆和舒壓,更會刺激大腦,產生親密、信任、安全感等愉悅感受。有時候,快樂就只需要一個
