والسعوديّة لم تتردّد في معاقبة كندا لأنّها تجرّأت على مطالبة الرياض بإطلاق سراح نشطاء حقوقيّين كما يقول فيري دو كيرشكوف.
ويعتبر أنّ فسخ العقد ممكن وغير ممكن في الوقت عينه، وفسخه مرهون بالإرادة السياسيّة.
ذلك أنّ موعد الانتخابات التشريعيّة الفدراليّة المحدّدة في تشرين الأوّل اكتوبر من العام المقبل بات قريبا، وتصنيع العربات المدرّعة يجري في مصانع شركة جنرال دايناميكس في اونتاريو ، والمسألة فيها الكثير من الخبث كما يقول دو كيرشكوف.
ويتساءل الدبلوماسي الكندي السابق لماذا تقدم بلاده على هذه الخطوة في وقت يكتفي الأوروبيّون بتعليق بيع السلاحمؤقّتا بانتظار أن تهدأ العاصفة كما يقول فيري دو كرشكوف.
وتعليق بيع السلاح مؤقّتا يعني حسب فيري دو كرشكوف أنّ العقوبات التجاريّة ستوضع جانبا، ما من شأنه أن يرضي الأوساط الصناعيّة التي تعتبر أنّ رئيس الحكومة الكنديّة يعمل على حماية مصالحها.
تورونتو : حفل لمَدّ الجسور بين الثقافات في المجتمع الكندي

وتناول سمير بن جعفر موضوعا حول حفل يونيتي غالا Unity Gala الذي تنظمه مجموعة من المنظمات الكندية التي تعنى بمكافحة التمييز والعنصرية يوم الجمعة 2 نوفمبر تشرين الثاني في تورونتو. ويسعى المنظمون لكسر الحواجز وبناء جسور التفاهم بين مختلف مكوّنات المجتمع الكندي المتعدد الثقافات.
وتقول خولة طه إحدى المتطوّعات في تنطيم الحفل وهي ناشطة اجتماعية في ميسيسوغا المدينة المجاورة لتورونتو "إنّ حفل Unity Gala هو عبارة عن امسيه توحد المسلمين وغير المسلمي والاقليات. وسيكون هناك متحدثون يتكلمون عن الاسلاموفوبيا وعن الاضطهاد."
إضافة لهؤلاء سيكون هناك مغنّون مثل نانسي التي ستغني للمحبة والسلام. وسيشارك الممثل والفنان الفكاهي الأمريكي جيريمي ماكليلان Jeremy McLellan المناهض للتمييز.
وردّا على سؤال حول ظاهرة الاسلاموفوبيا في كندا، تقول خولة طه إنّ"أي أقلية في العالم هي عُرضة للاضطهاد. وعدد المسلمين في كندا لا يتجاوز المليون شخص تقريبا يعني 3% من إجمالي عدد السكان." ويسقف المشاركون دقيقة صمت ترحّما على أرواح الست ضحايا لعملية اطلاق النار على مسجد مدينة كيبيك في في 29 يناير كانون الثاني 2017 وعلى روح المُسعِفة الأولى أندريان لوبلان التي عانت من اضطرابات نفسية بعد مشاركتها في التكفّل بضحايا الهجوم من قتلى ومصابين. وقد انتحرت بعد ذلك.
