Episode 50. Novelty & Humor
There were several serious incidents during the Psychedelic era such as a televised War, race riots, protesters confronted by the police, the formation of dangerous cults, radical hippie groups looking for a clash of ideas both philosophically and physically. There was a lot of heaviness. Humor was a good antidote towards the harder side of the hippie age and several bands lightened the mood with humor while retaining their musicality. This 50th episode will feature some great examples of fun, whimsical lyrics, creative music and even using humor as a form of social commentary. You're financial contributions a...

British bands became heavily influenced by American Blues artists that came out of Chicago, Mississippi and other rural areas of the south. The Rolling Stones always named their influences directly and began their career playing mostly blues covers. As the 60's progressed, other English bands took up the gauntlet of American blues music and played it louder and with a harder edge. The numbers were extended to showcase the techniques of guitarists like Eric Clapton, Peter Green, Paul Kossoff, Paul Kossoff, Kim Simmonds, Jeff Beck and Alvin Lee. "Garage Rock" is a term that was first used in the Sixties to describe a raw rock sound along with an attitude of anger or disdain towards an antagonist in a song.
