Der zweite Satz aus der „Orchestersuite Nr. 3 in D-Dur“ von Johann Sebastian Bach, auch bekannt als „Air“, entstand um etwa 1720. Das etwa 300 Jahre alte Stück scheint in allen möglichen Pop-Genres als Sample beliebt zu sein.
„Everything’s gonna be alright“ von „Sweetbox“ aus dem Jahr 1997 ist eine Mischung aus R&B, Soft-Hiphop und Popballade. Hier ist die Bach-Vorlage ganz eindeutig erkennbar. Es wurde nicht auf eine bestehende Orchesteraufnahme zurückgegriffen, sondern das Deutsche Filmorchester Babelsberg hat Bachs „Air“ nochmal extra für den Song eingespielt.
