英國《每日郵報》報導，川普19日在自己的“真相社交”（Truth Social）平台繼續發文，表示自己無辜，而曼哈頓地檢官白艾榮（Alvin Bragg）上任時已明確承諾，將會追隨其他檢察官的決定，查案時不會針對川普本人，只是拜登政府、民主黨和假新聞媒體持續施壓，白艾榮才被人強迫轉變立場。帖文續稱，聯同白艾榮和之前的萬斯（Cy Vance）在內，前後兩任曼哈頓地檢官了解案情後，都沒有提出起訴，但這次白艾榮加大調查力度，令人懷疑“檢察機關行為不當”，旨在“干涉選舉”，因此應該遭受調查。

（中央社倫敦12日綜合外電報導）台海局勢緊繃，據英國「經濟學人」週刊報導，如果中國選擇開戰，可能以軍演做為偽裝，且美方根據情報所能提供的預警時間最短可能只有幾個小時。報導說，如何提升中國領導人習近平對於開戰的疑慮又不會讓他決定立刻攻台，考驗美方技巧。
經濟學人（The Economist）11日發行最新一期雜誌，以台海風雲做為封面故事，標題為「為台灣而戰」（The Struggle for Taiwan），總共8篇的系列報導涵蓋當今挑戰、歷史、經濟、半導體、兩岸、國防、政治、國際關係等角度，深入分析台灣在中國的武力威脅下如何發展經濟及防衛戰力，其中一篇談及「美中在為台灣之戰做準備」以及如何能夠避免這場戰爭。
這篇報導說，美國未來若與中國發生軍事衝突，美軍印太司令海軍上將阿基里諾（Admiral John Aquilino）將負責督導作戰。阿基里諾在俯瞰夏威夷珍珠港的司令部表示，他的首要任務是「竭盡所能避免衝突」。
阿基里諾說，「與中國交戰並非無可避免，也非迫在眉睫」，然而「假設嚇阻失敗，就得準備戰鬥並贏得勝利」；阿基里諾並警告，正如俄羅斯入侵烏克蘭所顯示的，「沒有所謂的速戰速決」。

另一方面，中國方面也須做出重大決定：應該要只攻打台灣，希望在美國及其盟邦舉棋不定的時候創造既成事實？還是應該攻擊區域內的美軍，發動另一場珍珠港事件？若選擇前者，美國將可攻擊中國的侵略艦隊；若是後者，則幾乎可以保證美國將全心參戰，而且如果中國攻擊的是駐日美軍基地，日本也可能參戰。

五角大廈安保局（Pentagon Force Protection Agency）局長庫賽（Woodrow Kusse）在國防部記者會表示，今天上午約10時37分，一名國防部警察在五角大廈附近的地鐵與公車轉運站月台遇襲，雙方交火，造成部分傷亡；槍擊事件已落幕，國防部及其相關地區已無持續性的威脅，恢復安全，FBI正在調查此事。
庫賽稱不能透露更多訊息，避免破壞調查完整度；對於這起事件的性質、動機及嫌犯細節，庫賽說，待FBI調查告一段落，會再行說明。
FBI表示，正在調查這起事件，無法提供更多細節，只說「對大眾沒有持續威脅」。
另外，美聯社引述不具名執法人員說法報導，嫌犯為27歲的喬治亞州人蘭茲（Austin William Lanz），他3日上午在月台攻擊一名國防部警察，刺傷其脖子，隨後趕到的國防部警察開槍擊斃蘭茲，另有兩人受傷。
