58 - 28 Weeks Later (2007): British Horror’s Brutal Zombie Follow-Up
This time on General Witchfinders, we’re heading back into the blood-soaked, Rage-infected streets of post-apocalyptic Britain with 28 Weeks Later — the 2007 zombie horror sequel to Danny Boyle’s groundbreaking 28 Days Later. Directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, 28 Weeks Later builds on the legacy of 28 Days Later (which we covered in episode 43), expanding the world of the Rage Virus and the aftermath of a collapsed society. While Danny Boyle didn’t direct this time around — due to commitments on Sunshine — he stayed on as executive producer and even directed key sequences himself, including the ferocious opening scene.

JON'S TOP TEN WWII PICKS (#1 OF 10) THE COMMANDO RAID ON ST. NAZAIRE
JON'S TOP TEN WWII FAVORITES: #1 OF 10 BEST "The Commando Raid on St. Nazaire: the Most Daring Raid of WWII": The St. Nazaire Raid, also known as Operation Chariot, was a British Amphibious attack on the heavily defended Normandie drydock at St. Nazaire on March 26th, 1942. The objective of the raid was to destroy the drydock in German-held St. Nazaire, thus denying an Atlantic repair port to the new and powerful German battleship Tirpitz, which by itself was capable of winning the battle for the North Atlantic and cutting off England from much needed supplies. Join us for Hammer’s Hands of the Ripper, a 1971 British horror film released as the second half of a double feature with Twins of Evil. Making good use of the large Baker Street set at Pinewood Studios—left over from The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes—the production was denied permission to film its final scenes at St. Paul's Cathedral, so a replica was constructed instead. Gavin and Stacey is reason for scrapping licence fee.
The overwhelming success of Gavin and Stacey is proof that the BBC no longer needs the outdated and unfair licence fee. I discuss why the revival of this James Corden and Ruth Jones comedy highlights the BBC’s ability to attract commercial sponsors and generate revenue without forcing UK households to pay a compulsory poll tax. If shows like Coronation Street can thrive on ITV with sponsorship, why can’t the BBC adapt? The licence fee is an archaic system introduced in a pre-digital age. With the rise of streaming platforms like Netflix, Amazon, and YouTube, it’s time t...

Episode 235 - James Atkin of EMF

Like so many others, they suffered the dreaded sophomore slump on the second album and barely released a third before hanging it up. Frontman James Atkin talks openly about how difficult...

OPERATION MARKETGARDEN (PT II): SPIES, LIES, AND ALIBIS The two part story of a bold plan to strike the heart of Germany by dropping 36,000 British, Canadian, Polish, and American paratroopers in German controlled Holland in Sept 1944. Dedicated to the men who never made it back, this story doesn't pull any punches as to the command elements who screwed up through a combination of poor planning and in some cases, very likely sabotage. This is an incredible story of heroism on the part of the men who fought and liberated the south of Holland in the process. Recommended: A Bridge T...

THE COMMANDO RAID ON ST. NAZAIRE
"The Commando Raid on St. A joint operation involving over 200 British Commandos supported by Naval...
