2014 reiste Prof.in Dr.in Heidrun Schulze mit Studierenden der Sozialen Arbeit der Hochschule RheinMain Wiesbaden zu einer Partnerhochschule nach Ecuador. Dort begegnete sie der „Ruta Participativa“ – einem Präventionsprojekt gegen Gewalt an Frauen, das sie tief beeindruckte. Aus einem intensiven transkulturellen Austausch heraus brachte sie das Projekt nach Deutschland, wo es angepasst, weiterentwickelt und zu „MamMut“ wurde.
