The Flute Space
The Flute Space | Kathryn Williams | S.3 Ep.4
We had the loveliest talk with Kathryn Williams during her stay in Antwerp! Kathryn is not just flutist, but also composer and artistic researcher. Her current project, Coming Up for Air, started in 2017 as a playful creative response to living with chronic respiratory conditions by inviting composers to write flute pieces limited to a single breath. The project now includes over 150 pieces and a new flute concerto based on the project will premiere with the Luxembourg Philharmonic on 21 November 2024 at Rainy Days Festival in Luxemburg!! This Is Now A Williams Fan Account (Azerbaijan Grand Prix Reaction)
To paraphrase SNL's Stefon, this.race.has.everything.Papaya rules not being a factor. Oscar Piastri's flawless overtake on Charles Leclerc en route to the win. Leclerc losing out from pole in Baku for the fourth straight season. A resurgent(?) Sergio Perez coming together with Carlos Sainz on Lap 50 of 51. Williams double points! Franco Colapinto getting more points in one race than Logan Sargeant did in his entire time in F1. Ollie Bearman subbing for his second team this season AND beating teammate Nico Hulkenberg. George Russell somehow finishing P3?So much.
