Conjuring Up Those Stan Estes Traits
Send us a textYes. Since 2021--I have been working hard on the nicer, kinder, gentler version of Jennifer Kim Estes McCully-Mobley. (My son once told me my name was not going to fit on a tombstone!)With Father's Day occurring just last weekend, I had my Dad---Thomas Stanford (Buck) Estes on my mind. Most people called him Stan. If they had known him a long time, they called him Buck.He was a little rough around the edges at times, but people loved him because he was the real deal. He loved...

We serve a loving God who wants to help us move mountains. Sometimes we have to climb them first.Deep breaths. Baby steps. Let's get moving. The King is coming....

There Is Joy In The Journey
Send us a textI was able to celebrate the lives of two women I love this past month. Sharon Benton Whitehill's life was celebrated in Nixa. She was only 67 when she left us, but managed to fill her life with love, growth, opportunity, color and connections. Her legacy remains intact.Dorothy Dobyns celebrated her 100th birthday with multiple parties and events. Her life is one of courage, resilience and love. Both women have found joy in their journey and have managed to share that joy with others in the process. For that--I...

Send us a textWhen the world presents turmoil, confusion and despair...look for the good. The Paradoxical Commandments tell us to forgive anyway, build anyway, do good anyway and give the world the best you've got anyway. When I get the urge to tell folks where I think they are missing the boat, stirring the pot or causing dissension in the ranks, I go back to my corner to focus on the good...Anyway.It works---every single time.

We Still Have The Best Friends & Family...Still
Send us a textTen years ago in September, my husband had a stroke. It was a learning experience, to say the least. It also prepared us for what we would both endure a few years later in the midst of the pandemic.Like most of you, we consider ourselves survivors. We have had some ups and downs in our journey together. Faith holds. Love remains. As a writer, I often feel led to write about those who are closest to me. I know sometimes they don't mind. Send us a textKelley Field is the namesake of an important person in our community's history. As we welcome our Cassville visitors tonight for the first home game of the 2023 season, I'd like to go down the halls of history a little bit and remind you that you will be on the sidelines of some pretty sacred ground.S...
