IDK, we have tons of backlog, and hopefully this is the first of many more episodes to start rolling back onto this feed. Goon Is Still Good Enough
Goon was a flashback pick from late last year, but it was actually a 2012 release so now it is an actual flashback for the correct year! This was picked by Jon, but he didn’t make this episode, but Ben, Lauren and Zac all really enjoyed chatting about this hockey cult classic. Though, none of us have seen the sequel, so we don’t know if we can recommend that, but Scott and Schreiber are excellent here, so more of them is probably making it worth a watch. Take Amélie For A Spin
We are back with a flashback from last year, so it flashes back to 2001. Lauren picked Amélie, another Jean-Pierre Jeunet film from her, and its charms seemed to have won newcomer Ben over. Zac and Lauren continued to be big champions of the film, even if he thinks Amélie might be an emotional terrorist. Still, a fun chat and a lot of positive love for a movie that’s lost none of its charm all these year’s laters. Download. Listen. Enjoy. Ben picks The Raid this week for our flashback to “2011” as he tries to convince Zac that he is wrong about this one. He might prove him wrong, but he also loves the film as an action masterpiece. A three person weave on Mortal Kombat leads to a delightful episode where we find things to appreciate (and not) about this film that we run the spectrum on enjoyment. We review the infamous Zack Snyder’s Justice League and we like it. Actually, I’d say we really like it! Predators, What Are They Good For?
We flashback again as Covid-19 continues to keep us inside. This week, we honor the release of The Hunt with a flashback to Predators! The 2010 film is also an homage to The Most Dangerous Game and is also a pretty good sequel to boot. Ben gets a bit beat up defending the movie, but he’s not alone in his appreciation, even if we pick nits. Lauren remains unphased by this alien race, and all aliens? Our first flashback for 2020 is to 2010 for The Social Network. I consider this one of the best films of the decade, it is Top 3 David Fincher, and maybe Top 3 for everyone involved with anything in this movie. Babe: Pig In The City Is Not A Safe Space
This week we flashback to 1998 again for Babe: Pig in the City! The sequel to the Oscar winning film is directed by Mad Max’s George Miller, has some decent set pieces and traumatized Lauren enough for her to turn off the movie! Jon and Zac fill her in on what she missed and discuss some of the morals and parables of the film. Good talk, interesting movie. Download. Listen. The Mask Of Zorro Is Still Sharp
This week we flashback to 1998 again, this time to discuss The Mask of Zorro! Hopkins! Banderas! Zeta-Jones! Stunts! The movie is packed, but maybe with a bit too much drama? Either way, Lauren enjoyed this growing up and I think most of us still do, quibbles and all. So throw on that mask and join us in one of the last big practical action blockbusters of the 90’s. Does Slumdog Millionaire Still Feel Rich 10 Years Later?
Slumdog Millionaire was the best picture winner of the films released in 2008, but does it still stand up ten years later? Lauren had never seen the film, and is taken with it as many of the audiences were back then, but Zac and Ben aren't quite as sure anymore. Jon tells his life story in case you were curious about that, too. So jump in the hot seat, and revisit Slumdog Millionaire Download. Listen. We Take A Bite Out Of The Meg
When Zac is away, the giant killer fish come out to play. For this week's episode, Ben, Jon and Lauren strike out on the high seas (or, super low seas), as they sink to the deppest trench of the world's oceans. But They're not alone down there. At this depth the ocean is dark and full of ancient terror and one of them is hangry. Come along and...sea...how The Meg fares with this crew. Download. Where Does Speed Racer Place For You?
This week’s episode flashes back to 2008 for the Wachowskis’ Speed Racer! Zac’s excited, Ben and Lauren aren’t, and Jon, well, he’s not quite sure. I still love it, but I don’t really have a lot of luck turning anyone to my side. Still, if you are a fan, or not, we have a lot of fun going back and forth on this. Plus, there is some Michael Giacchino score in there. Download. Listen. The Big Lebowski Is Still, Like, Good, Man
We flashback to 1998 this week, to revisit the Coen Brothers Comedy Classic, The Big Lebowski! Lauren and Jon hadn't seen it before, which I find remarkable, and we have a good conversation between Ben and I dropping quotes. Also, if you think Jon is more quiet this episode, it's because he had a few, early, technical difficulties; which you shouldn't notice. But, know that he wasn't being punished for rambling on about The Dark Knight viral marketing last episode. Download. Listen. We Can't Shut Up About A Quiet Place
Welcome to another episode of Middle of the Row: The Podcast! This week, Lauren, Ben and Jon discuss A Quiet Place and they all really love it! As for me, let's just say I wish I could have been on this episode. I would have provided a nice counter to the discussion, as I thought this movie was not good, and actively got worse with the runtime. Maybe there will be room for me to have my say on the podcast some other time. But know, I am in the minority on this one, and the group has a great...

Should You Get Stuck With This Tomb Raider?
Tomb Raider is the latest video game to attempt to make the leap to the big screen, well, I guess, for a second time, as this is a reboot of a reboot.
