Pemerintah provinsi Sulawesi Selatan kembali menegaskan komitmen melanjutkan pembangunan Stadion Mattoanging. Buktinya, setiap tahun proyek tersebut masuk penganggaran APBD. Untuk tahun 2022 anggaran yang dialokasikan sebesar 66 miliar, dan pada 2023 direncanakan sebesar 60 miliar. Hanya saja, kelanjutan pembangunan stadion legendaris tersebut masih menunggu kasus hukumnya tuntas.
Kepala Biro Hukum Sekretariat Pemprov Sulsel Marwan menegaskan, walaupun proses hukum tengah berjalan, Pemprov Sulsel tetap mengalokasikan anggaran untuk membangun Stadion Mattoanging pada tahun depan. Hal itu semata-mata menunjukkan niat Pemprov yang ingin tetap membangun stadion.
