Der Wiener Wurstelprater ist Teil des Praters und ist ungefähr 26ha groß (das sind 4% der Gesamtfläche des Praters). Mit mehr als 7 Millionen BesucherInnen jährlich gehört er zu den Hauptattraktionen des Wien-Tourismus. Der Wurstelprater ist auch ein wichtiger Wirtschaftsfaktor in der Stadt. Mehr als 80 Betriebe beschäftigen bis zu 2.700 Menschen und erwirtschaften Millionen-Umsätze. Der Wurstelprater wurde aber erst mit der Weltaustellung 1873 zu dem Vergnügungsort par excellence in Wien.
