Wasn't That Special: 50 Years of SNL Podcast
SNL Cast Members Ranked, Part One (From 128 to 76)
Of all the reasons to start a podcast, spite seems to be near the top of the list. For too many years, we have seen ridiculous “best of” lists ranking Saturday Night Live cast members, seasons, and sketches that were clearly written by people who had only watched a small fraction of the show. Norm MacDonald the seventh-worst cast member of all time? Jenny Slate ahead of Bobby Moynihan? Beth Cahill above Joe Piscopo? Pamela Stephenson ahead of Will Forte? If SNL had a justice system, these would be capital crimes. Naturally, any good holder of g...

Slashing the winter fuel allowance, maintaining the two child benefit cap, cutting international aid, cutting the civil service, axing NHS bureaucracy, possibly slashing welfare expenditure... you'd be forgiven for thinking the Conservatives were in power. But no, these are all policies pursued by the current Labour government. So on today's Saturday Shots Cindy Yu asks Michael Gove and James Heale, is Keir Starmer a Tory? TMR 062 – From Dusk Till Dawn
Remember the innocent 90s, when white directors thought they had the N-word pass for some reason? What do you think their “woke” movie would look like? Probably like this, where the N-word is replaced by horrific rape and Mexican jokes. This proto-edgelord movie was looked at as such a good time romp that it was considered the perfect vehicle to transition from the hit network show ER to the big screen. What a simpler time… From Dusk Till Dawn (1996) d. Robert Rodriguez w. Robert Kurtzman (story), Quentin Tarantino (screenplay) Starring...

Public Opinion
When Professor Averil Macdonald, the chairwoman of UK Onshore Oil and Gas, said that women are opposed to fracking because they don't understand it, the reaction was predictable. She was accused of being sexist, patronizing, misogynistic. But in all the brouhaha what was missed was the difficult moral question at the heart of her argument.
