Blood on the Tracks Episode 94: The Peak(s) Period of Russ Meyer.
Russ Meyer loved women. Women with big boobs, big curves, and big personalities. His entire career was all about putting his fetishes on screen in nudie cuties, dramas, crime films, mondo movies, sex comedies, and any other sort of exploitation film he could get away with, often all in the same film! This month Lee's built a big playlist of selections from his peak years, which stretched from the early 1960s through to the late 1970s. --The Escaped Prisoner from "Lorna" (1964) --Hal Hopper --Lorna from "Lorna" (1964) --Hal Hopper & Bob Grabeau --Whiskey Mash from "...

The Ogre of Ardennes: French Serial Killer Michel Fourniret terrorizes Europe
When girls and young women began disappearing in France and Belgium, it took the police far too long to realize the cases were connected. Serial Killer Michel Fourniret and his wife Monique Olivier had formed a deadly pact and many would die to satiate the sick desires. Many people close to this case feel the police are partly at fault because the killer couple was right under their noses for years and both were known criminals. On this episode we tell the story of The Ogre of Ardennes and we remember those who lost their lives at the hands...

Laura Lee's Sin Bin - Pras Michel
1/3 of the Fugees is going to prison. Pras Michel is getting 14 years in federal prison for illegally funneling millions of dollars in foreign money into U.S. political campaigns. That's it. That's the sin bin. Just another successful person screwing it up. Don't do that maybe. Pras, for being an "unregistered foreign agent" (which sounds cool but I guess isn't) should feel shame, shame, shame.

Cherry Moon Friends & Mint River Devils (a medley sung in duet with Anne_Lee)
Yes, that's a pretty far-fetched title for this collection of three covers : "Chère Amie" - Originally sung by Marc Lavoine and Francoise Hardy "Moon-River" taken from the film "Breakfast at Tiffany's" by Blake Edwards - Originally sung by Audrey Hepburn "Diabolo Menthe" taken from the film "Diabolo Menthe" by Diane Kurys : Originally sung by Yves Simon Note to those who are blessed or cursed with absolute pitch : You might experience mild headache, nausea or the comforting effect of finger-nails screeching down a blackboard, owing to the fact that two of the covers had been recorded in F# and the o...

Don't Follow Me (adaptation of an original song by Anne_Lee)
I heard this track on Anne's page five months ago, and as much as I like a detuned piano ;) just couldn't resist offering that we record another version of it ... La Chanson d'Helene - P Sarde / JL Dabadie (feat. Anne_Lee)
This beautiful song which has been churning around in my head on and off for decades was composed by Philippe Sarde (with lyrics by Jean-Loup Dabadie) in 1970 along with the rest of his score for Claude Sautet's "Les choses de la vie". Romy Schneider and Michel Piccoli who starred in the film also lent their voices to this song, which I believe was the first and last time the former ever did so. Some might argue that it was a wise decision :-/ I was delighted that Anne agreed to take on the role of Romy in order to sing...
