Released in 2002 without a track list or any artist credits and boasting only a picture of an old biker bar in Chicago, it quickly became a topic of curiosity and was immediately sought after by collectors and dj's alike. It was compiled by the crew at Memphix Records, who dug deep into the 45 vault and came up with some really heavy funk rock grooves from the 1970's Black Rock music scene. In 1972, Ron Dante recorded this album for Buddha records entitled 'Spiderman: A Rockomic', offering up infectious tunes like 'Goin' Crosstown' interspersed within a storyline. During the 90's Hip Hop's increasingly innovative and diverse styles literally shaped the entire musical landscape of the time. The DMZChains and Black Exhaust"Chains and Black Exhaust" is probably the best funk rock compilation of all time. Released in 2002 without a track list or any artist credits and boasting only a picture of an old biker bar in Chicago, it quickly became a topic of curiosity and was immediately sought after by collectors and dj's alike. It was compiled by the crew at Memphix Records, who dug deep into the 45 vault and came up with some really heavy funk rock grooves from the 1970's Black Rock music scene. And it's full of enough reverb and fuzztone to make your head spin.

The DMZDaptone Records SamplerDaptone Records is a funk and soul indie record label based in Brooklyn, New York, most well known for their work with Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings and Charles Bradley. The label was founded in 2001 by Bosco Mann and Neal Sugarman, who built their studio called Daptone's House of Soul in a converted two-family home in the Bushwick neighborhood of Brooklyn. They decided not to use any digital programming and instead relied on old fashioned analog recording methods, including good old studio acoustics, which thus created the very distinctive sound of Daptone Records. The DMZDUSTY FINGERSDusty Fingers is the name of a widely admired series of compilation records collected by Bronx DJ Danny Dann the Beat Mann. Following in the tradition of the Ultimate Breaks and Beats series, the Dusty Fingers records contain an eclectic range of musical styles: mainly funk and jazz, but also including soul, rock, disco, and pop. The idea behind this series which was compiled in Germany by music maven Tobias Kirmayer, was to find and preserve great american music that is at risk of being lost or forgotten. Since its original release in 2005, this series reached Vol. 9 in 2014, all the while maintaining its ability to find some real funk pearls! (not to mention the jazz, soul and rock & roll)
