Pesach 5781: ”Seder Telling” with Rabbanit Leah Sarna, Rabbi David Silber, Dr. Tammy Jacobowitz, Darshanit Dr. Miriam Udel, and Rabbi David Ingber
Today our seder nights are guided by the liturgical prompts of the Haggadah, but it wasn’t always this way. Our tradition records that in the times of the Mishnah, Rabbis gathered in Lod and Bnai Brak on the Seder night to tell the story of the Exodus. Unscripted, in their own words. Join us and listen in as a gathering of scholars and rabbis re-enact this seder, at our event: Seder Telling. Presented in partnership with: Brandeis Hillel, Congregation Darchei Noam, Congregation Ohr Hatorah, Netivot Shalom, Romemu, Torat Chayim, Valley Beit Midrash, and Yeshivat Maharat.

R' Yakov Horowitz: How To Protect Our Children (with guest co-host Yitzie Ingber)
At the age of 3, Yakov Horowitz lost his father. After many years of teaching, he wrote a 4,500 word essay in The Jewish Observer titled “An Ounce of Prevention” on the subject of at-risk teens in the community. The article shocked the Orthodox community and led to an invitation to address the 1996 National Conventions of Agudath Israel of America and Torah Umesorah. It also led to the founding of Project Y.E.S. in 1997, which he is the director. In 1997, Horowitz founded Yeshiva Darchei Noam of Monsey, a child-centered yeshiva, and published Bright Beginnings Chumash and Gema...

"The Place of the Possible": Rabbi David Ingber on Parshat Beshalach, 5782
Miriam's original role was to protect Moses, and ultimately, despite a life lined with bitterness, she chose to become a bountiful source of sweet water for an entire young nation of desperate people. Rabbi David Ingber reminds us of a similar lesson from Martin Luther King Jr. - that we can either react with bitterness, or we can respond by putting our energy into a creative force. It is possible to choose the positive - may we always choose to take ourselves to the place of the possible.
