Chronic Cough
What is the mechanism behind most cases of chronic cough? What is the most effective way to treat it from a conventional medicine point of view? It's NOT using an albuterol inhaler, NOT using over-the-counter cough syrups, NOT using cough drops, and definitely NOT using antibiotics over and over again. We will discuss the topic of airway sensitivity and my method of addressing it. We will also see when I would add on Chinese herbal treatment in an appropriate way. This bonus episode complements the previous one regarding mucus and phlegm.

Mucus and Phlegm

5-HTP or Melatonin ?
5-HTP or melatonin, which one is better for insomnia? 5-HTP is preferred because it encourages your body to make more serotonin and melatonin. Serotonin is one of the "feel-good hormones" while melatonin enhances your sleep quality. Furthermore, 5-HTP is on the reactant side of the biochemical reaction, rather than being an end-product like melatonin, so there is less chance of interfering with your own body's production of melatonin.
