Season 6: "The Christine Moore Episode"
Inside this Episode with host, Mitch Hampton I seem to never tire of saying that among my many missions on this podcast is to have guests that are quite different than myself. Although Christine and I are both musicians and in the music world, I can't carry a tune to save my life and my truly awful singing voice is one of the main reasons I decided to purely instrumental music in terms of my own performance. Not only does our guest have one of the best singing voices in her for any field or ge...

Black Writers in Paris, the FBI, and a Lost 1960s Classic: Rediscovering The Man Who Cried I Am
Wednesday, November 8—The expatriate literary scene in Paris that flourished around Richard Wright and James Baldwin produced brilliant writing, intellectual ferment, and bitter rivalries—all of it, and much else from that turbulent time, thrillingly explored in John A. It was 10 years ago - that is, if you're listening on May 6, 2015! What a difference a decade makes - then, a Labour overall majority of *just* 65 in a general election was regarded as a disappointment! This is me (me! me!) presenting the news at 0800 the morning after the election on a Restricted Service Licence (RSL) - which broadcast for a month, as a trial for a hoped-for permanent FM licence in Liverpool and surrounding areas. Well, that didn't happen, but we had a lot of fun with this innovative speech/music mix .

It was 40 years ago today! This is the interview (?!) section of the 'Pop Forum' programme on the Birmingham Hospital Broadcasting Network (BHBN) with Les Ross on April 26, 1975. Training journalists on how to use social media is rapidly becoming an essential element at 'J-Schools' in the USA, UK and many other countries. But there are many perils, as well as pluses, in the public use of what many still think of as an essentially peer-group method of communication. This is me talking to Mary Rogus of the E.W. With all this talk of the music chart on Radio 1 being moved to Friday afternoons from its long-established Sunday slot, I've dug out a cassette of me revealing a new chart on forces' radio in 1982.
