Nie zuvor und bis heute nie mehr danach ist ein ziviles Verkehrsflug so lange ohne Antrieb geflogen.

Flugforensik - Abstürze und ihre GeschichteLufthansa-Katastrophe in Nairobi: Jumbo ohne AuftriebAm 20. November 1974 stürzt eine Boeing 747-100 der deutschen Lufthansa beim Start in Nairobi ab. Es ist der erste Jumbo-Absturz in der Luftfahrtgeschichte. 59 Menschen sterben, 98 überleben. Einer der dunkelsten Tage in der Historie der Lufthansa jährt sich in diesen Tagen zum 50. Mal.
Die Flugforensiker Andreas Spaeth und Benjamin Denes konnten für diese Folge mit Hans-Joachim Schacke, dem First Officer des Unglücksfluges sprechen.
