龍緣之出生於台北，北京大學電影學碩士，北京清華大學科技哲學博士。現為臺灣動物與人學會理事、國際非政府組織行動亞洲（ACTAsia）亞洲區代表、關懷生命協會動保扎根教育平台諮詢委員。從國中開始喜歡電影和藝術，熱心參與社會運動。於華梵大學哲學系就讀時，受到朱增宏老師啟發，畢業後搬到北京全力投入動物倡議並攻讀學位。碩士期間，以1930年代上海的「獸片」（動物主題電影）熱潮為研究主題。博士階段投入對大熊貓保護歷史的STS（科學、技術與社會）研究，揭示保育和動物保護觀念的社會建構過程。曾赴東京工業大學進行海外交流，並於日本動物權利中心實習，期間發起聯合日本、韓國、台灣、香港和中國大陸地區的「亞洲零皮草」倡議，近年則於歐洲進行獨立跨國調查和研究工作。研究興趣包括動物研究、動物和藝術，以及大熊貓保育、展演動物和皮草等議題。
