Die Freiräume zwischen den denkmalgeschützten Magazin-Gebäuden der Tabakfabrik Linz (Peter Behrens und Alexander Popp, 1929 – 35) wurden 1969 mit zusätzlichen Lagerräumen verbaut. Nach der Abwanderung der Tabak-Verarbeitung stellte sich die Frage der Nachnutzung. Erst durch den Abbruch der nachträglich eingesetzten Zwischenmagazine konnte wieder eine ausreichende Belichtung hergestellt und damit über eine Umnutzung nachgedacht werden.
