A message for anyone drifting...
In the last 2 months, my life has moved and swayed epically as I overcame unemployment and near homelessness to now be working an ideal job and living on my own in an ideal location. It’s been challenging but fun. I suppose I have a level of comfort with the nerve-racking stakes of life on the edge. In the blink of an eye, I was without income (and a dwindling savings account). On top of that, the share house that I was living in wa...

Dark Mode Activated
Ryan Holiday often talks about the phenomenon of talking about your work before doing it. People do this, in his opinion, to gain some favour and feel a sense of accomplishment before doing anything to earn it. It's what Stijn Noorman says "Stop telling people about your goals. You're collecting dopamine you haven't earned yet." In this podcast I look at the idea of activating dark mode. With gratitude, SAV x 💿 Listen to my latest project: https://spoti.fi/3TEX3HH

How To Avoid Disappointment According to Epictetus
The stoics have a concept regarding each event and moment having 2 handles, specifically Epictetus who said: “Every event has two handles, one by which it can be carried, and one by which it can’t.” What this essentially means is that every moment contains within it 2 possible paths to take, the path of least resistance or the path of most resistance. When confronted by moments that cause me to pause, I try to remind myself that 'we're all trying our best'. With gratit...

Push through the fatigue. Not just tiredness or soreness. I'm talking about the mental fatigue of losing and not being on top.The fatigue one endures when you're inner critic is your single greatest opponent. The fatigue of second guessing yourself day in and day out.The fatigue of shaming yourself for f*****g up.The fatigue of beating yourself up for doing something/anything that doesn't immediately succeed.Every single day, in every single moment, we need to be willing to cast all the doubt and...

I was reading Patrick Bet David's book 'Your Next 5 Moves', when a passage about conviction stuck out to me."Sales should feel effortless, like a natural extension of who you are"This made a lot of sense to me when related to solopreneurship and personal brand. When it comes to me and the business I am trying to build, it doesn't really feel like selling because I have so much belief in what I am doing aka conviction. So, in this episode I talk a little more about that concept - conviction when...
