故事中，凱爾普是一隻出生在海裡的獨角獸，他和其他的獨角鯨長的不同、吃的不同、也比較不會游泳，但是他的獨角鯨同伴們一點也不介意。有一天，凱爾普被洋流捲走，在離島不遠的地方，他看見一隻神祕的、閃閃發亮的生物，他竟然長得和凱爾普一模一樣！從來沒去過陸地的他決定一探究竟……
