ליהונתן יש שתי הרצאות TED, ומספר הרצאות וסדנאות לצוותי חינוך, הורים ובני נוער. בעברו ניהל תיכון דמוקרטי בתל-אביב, ומסגרת חינוכית ייחודית לילדים בעלי קשיי השתלבות בבת ים.
כיום הוא יועץ משפחתי, וגם מכשיר מדריכים משפחתיים ב"אקדמיה לחינוך של יהונתן דורון”. הוא יועץ חינוכי לצוותי חינוך בבתי ספר ממלכתיים ואלטרנטיביים, ומוסדות חינוך בלתי פורמליים.
והוא גם מחבר רב המכר – “כל מה שילד צריך”, שבימים אלו יוצא במהדורה העשירית שלו, והספרים “אל היער הקסום של הילדות”, "ילדי הירח", וספר הילדים “הקסומים”.
דיברנו על הילדות המורכבת שלו, גילאי ההתבגרות והחיים בפנימיית נוער, על חינוך ועל הורות.
