Ursachen sind vor allem Fehlhaltungen sowie sich ständig wiederholende Bewegungsabläufe. Um chronische Schäden und Schmerzen zu vermeiden, sollte das gesamte Setup im Endoskopieraum allen Bedürfnissen angepasst werden, die Endoskope idealerweise modifiziert werden (nicht „one-size-fits-all“) und durch geeignete Übungen die Muskulatur gezielt trainiert werden.
