Maharshi helped them by arranging their stay in the house of a Brahmin family. Paandavs took to begging as a means of livelihood. One day, Bheem had not gone for begging. Kuntee and Bheem heard their host Brahmin family crying loudly. Brahmin, his wife and his daughter – each of them wanted to sacrifice his / her life, but could not decide who should go. Kuntee asked them the reason for the crisis in their lives. Brahmin explained that there was a cannibal raakshas named Bak.
