从黑石城回来的那一天，我在新新人类群聊里说：“朋友们，不幸的消息：这大概是我这辈子过的最棒的一周。”
在诸多主流叙事中，每年八月底在美国内华达州举办的火人节（Burning Man），就是一场放任自由主义（Libertarianism）的精英狂欢。我过去也因为它和硅谷之间的精神与文化纽带，对它有过先入为主的成见。而如果你告诉去年的我，我会在沙漠里坚持八天不洗澡，我一定不会相信。但事实上，在这一周里，我放声痛哭过，也开怀大笑过。我在燃烧的熊熊烈火中，看到了让灵魂为之颤栗的景象。在狂风暴雨之间，我也感受到了人与人之间最简单、真诚和美好的联系。这一切，都彻底改变了我对火人节的印象。
但在我们聊黑石城的魔幻与灵性的同时，我们也不可避免的要提到这场起源于嬉皮士精神的活动在逐渐主流化、现代化的过程中所经历的变化。在这期播客中，我们探讨了资本主义逻辑之下“假期”的概念，与建立乌托邦所需要的经济成本。安蕤也分享了她所经历的一次位于黑山的生活实验，引发了我们对于社群建构的探讨。为什么这些精神实验总有一个截止日期？在控制变量环境下，人与人之间的善意，又是否能被带回现实世界？
Hi everyone, this is Yiwen reporting back from Burning Man.
The day I returned from Black Rock City, I wrote in our Pixel Perfect group chat: “Friends, I regret to report that this may actually be the best week of my life.” In mainstream narratives, Burning Man — held every late August in Nevada’s desert — is often seen as an elitist playground for libertarianists. I used to think the same, especially because of its deep cultural and spiritual ties with Silicon Valley. And if you had told me last year that I’d spend eight days in the desert without showering, I would never have believed you. Yet over that week, I cried my eyes out, laughed until my stomach hurt, and stood before burning flames that made my soul tremble. In the middle of storms and rain, I also felt the most simple, genuine, and beautiful forms of human connection. All of this completely changed my view of Burning Man.
But alongside the magic and spirituality of Black Rock City, we can’t avoid talking about how this countercultural gathering — rooted in hippie ideals — has evolved as it’s become more mainstream and modernized. Living in a time of turbulence and change, we increasingly see our peers evoking a sense of nostalga: from the excitement of watching the Olympics and World Expo as kids, to the way the internet opened the door for us to explore the world, there seemed to be a tone of openness and optimism in that era. Back in the millennium, Pu Shu wrote, “Put on new clothes, get a new haircut. Let’s have some fun, Windows 98,” but by 2017, he rewrote the song as “Time is gone, this is no longer our world. Everything has changed, leaving us devastated and disheartened.” Take a look at the comment sections of both songs, and you’ll see that everyone feels this collective emotion.

Whether it's through companies he founded, like Tesla and SpaceX, or the series of bold moves he made after acquiring the social media platform Twitter, followed by his recent conservative shift, Musk firmly holds the top spot on Silicon Valley’s list of talking points.
This larger-than-life tech leader is a bundle of contradictions. Supporters see him as the savior of Silicon Valley, a true genius who’s unafraid to break free from conventional thinking. But critics argue that he’s impulsive, selfish, misogynistic; an arrogant clown. Whichever side you’re on, there’s no denying Musk has gone beyond being just another business mogul — he’s become a public figure, a myth, and a kind of cultural metaphor for our times.
What kind of person is Musk, really? How should we assess him? What can we learn about Silicon Valley’s current discontents from his biographies, the media coverage, and his obsession with controlling his own narrative? In this episode, Matthew and Yiwen finally got the chance to exchange their stories of webnovel obsession. We gave Anrui, a fan of serious literature, a crash course on the past and future of webnovels—genres, top authors, online platforms—only for Anrui to realize that she has, indeed, read webnovels too.
The development trajectory of webnovels has exceeded our wildest imagination. It grew from a guilty pleasure exclusive to young people to a cultural industry worth billions of dollars. What was once .txt files and the characters within them have now transformed into globally popular TV shows and A-list celebrities. Our consumption habits have also evolved from reading for free to paying, from single-chapter purchases to subscription models; now, big techs have brought us back to the era of free reading. Today, few can escape the cultural influence of webnovels. It’s no longer just a niche hobby—so has it, in a sense, taken its revenge on serious literature?

这次的嘉宾都是绝对的一线。有 Google Brain 的研究员，Xuezhi, 她是 Google 大语言模型 PaLM (Pathways language model) 的作者之一。还有来自 Stability AI 的技术产品经理，和来自某硅谷科技大厂的AI产品经理，曾任前吴恩达教授的Landing AI 机器学习产品负责人。还邀请到了一位一直关注AI的投资人朋友，Bill，作为主持嘉宾。

等下！这几个人到底是男是女主播：艾迪、莫来石、睿涉及话题：1. 我们各自的性别表达与认同2. 生活中对跨儿的常见误解3. 我们怎么看待二元的性别刻板印象和遇到的问题相关概念简介：出生分配性别/指派性别/指配性别：出生证上的性别。通常在一个人出生时，由医生根据其外生殖器形态判断并记录。在我国目前只有男、女两个选项，但在一些国家有“未知”的选项。大部分情况下当人们使用“生理性别”这个词，指的实际上是出生分配性别。 生理性别特征：生理层面上的性别分化，包括染色体、性激素水平、第一性征（生殖器官）、第二性征（体格、毛发、胸腺等青春期分化的性征）等方方面面多个特征。需要注意，一个人的“生理性别”往往并不是“非男即女”，而是在每个单独的生理特征上都可能偏向男性化、女性化、皆有、或者皆非。这些分化，有可能是先天发育的结果（例如间性人），也可能是后天激素、手术等干预的结果。因此“生理男性/生理女性”的说法是不准确的，应当避免使用这样的用词，用“出生分配性别”取代而之。要讨论生理层面的性别，应该明确具体讨论的是什么生理性征。社会性别：一个人在社会上所扮演的性别角色，可以理解为“在别人眼里是什么性别”。尤其是这个人因此所要承担的，基于性别的对于其言行举止、劳动分工等方面的预期，例如”男性赚钱养家”、“女性带孩子”，“男性爱运动”、“女性穿裙子”等。包括日常生活中与别人的实际互动，也包括法律等规章制度。我国大环境通常只认可男和女两个选项，但部分国家与文化中，自然存在的社会性别有三种（印度、北美原住民）甚至五种（印尼武吉斯人）。同一个人在不同时间和情境中，取决于自身表达与别人的认知，也可能扮演不同的性别角色。性别认同/自我认同性别：一个人对于自己性别的体验、认知与认同，可以理解为“在自己眼里是什么性别”或“真实性别”。大部分情况下当人们使用“心理性别”这个词，指的实际上是性别认同。据最新科研结果，性别认同不仅存在于心理层面，而是有一定的生理基础，不由出生分配性别、生理性别特征、社会性别等决定，也无法按个人意愿选择改变。当一个人的性别认同与出生分配性别不同，则称为跨性别（例如出生分配性别为女，性别认同也为女）。如果一致，则称为顺性别（例如出生分配性别为女，性别认同也为女）。性别表达：一个人在言行、外貌上表达性别的方式，可以理解为“这个人看上去是什么性别”。性别表达可以是男性化/阳刚、女性化/阴柔、中性、双性等的任意组合。性别表达与性别认同没有必然关系（例如一名男性穿裙子，不代表他是女人）。无论顺性别还是跨性别，很多人的性别表达与社会对其性别认同的预期一致。但也有人的性别表达与社会预期印象不一致，可称为“性别非常规”，也属于广义的跨儿群体之中。性倾向：一个人受到什么样性别气质的人的吸引，可以理解为“喜欢什么性别的人”。有些人喜欢偏男性气质的人（女异性恋、男同性恋/gay），有些人喜欢偏女性气质的人（女同性恋/拉拉、男异性恋），有些人都喜欢（双性恋、泛性恋），有些人都不喜欢（无性恋）。性倾向和性别认同是两件不同的事情，两者没有必然联系。性别焦虑：跨性别者因生理性别特征、社会性别等与自身性别认同不一致，而产生的不安、焦躁与痛苦等感受。性别焦虑，可能来源于生理层面，对于拥有或缺乏不符合自我认同的生理特征的厌恶，尤其是但不限于第一、第二性征。也可能来源于社交层面上，别人对自己的性别认同进行否定或忽视的行为，例如一位跨性别男性被人叫“女士”或“学姐”，可能就会感到社交层面的性别焦虑。过渡期：大部分跨性别者成长过程中被作为出生分配性别来抚养、对待，如果想要按照自己认同的性别身份生活，往往需要一个转变、过渡的阶段。过渡期包括社交过渡和医学过渡。社交过渡可能包括出柜、请身边的人以其认同的性别来对待自己（例如使用正确的人称代词、称呼等），以及言行和外表上的性别表达（例如改变发型、衣着打扮等）。医学过渡可能涉及到使用激素替代疗法、性别肯定手术等改变第一、第二性征的分化和形态、其他整形手术、脱毛/种毛、嗓音治疗、生殖细胞冻存等。过渡的 性别人称代词：中文里区分性别的人称代词主要是第三人称，包括她（女性）、他（男性）和ta（中性）。尊重一个人的性别认同，应该使用与其性别认同相符的人称代词。本系列采访文中用到的第三人称代词，除非有特殊注明，全部根据被采访者实际性别认同而定，而不是其出生分配性别。特别鸣谢——海报照片提供：獒野试听建议：Gawie、Yiwen我们将Facebook博主@Evey Winters收集整理的一些问题译成了中文，欢迎大家回复数字与我们互动，我们将尽可能认真细致地回答。最后，祝大家跨性别现身日快乐。
