A 2020 Winter Solstice Special
This week, I'm sharing with you the Winter Solstice Special from my other podcast, The Camille Conte Show. It's a lovely hour of music, poetry and history. May you take a moment today to be still, appreciate the beauty of the seasons, the turning of the wheel as the Pagans say, and perform some personal ritual or ceremony that connects you to your Sacred Self. Peace, CC

A New Big Beginning is Upon Us - Episode 30
We've got a new moon coupled with a full solar eclipse today, yet another celestial event happening in what is being named "A Divine December." But what does it all mean to us as we go about our lives during these times of tremendous Change? I've spent all day steeping myself in the silence so I could feel into what this opportunity is all about. Turns out, it's a gift that we're being given from Life itself. In this episode, I explore the opportunity that is being presented to us this day, this month and how it is that...

The Deconstruction of the Old World Order - Episode 29
The deconstruction of the old world order. What does that mean for us if we were a part of that order? How do we handle the complete falling away of the day-to-day structures that governed our sense of self and the life that we live? How do we handle the assault on our senses as we are bombarded with betrayal, injustice, outrage, death, grief and loss? When clinging to the old and denial of the new doesn't work, how do we adjust to change we didn't ask for? How do we...

Topics include: the stages of change, why we wnated to go back to "normal", the ending of beliefs, ways in which we lived, the sytems we agreed to that make us society, our attachment to order and why when it falls away, we go into a tail spin and so much more. The good news is, the new world order is here and is seeking your recognition of it however you cannot take hold of it until you let...

The Confusion Experiment Audiobook - The Findings - The End
The eighteen findings that this experiment yielded represent some of the most insightful, educational and life changing information I've ever received and realized. Without a doubt, they summarize this journey from my head to my heart and beyond. So applicable to life right now as we know it, I started this podcast with this findings. Those "episodes" are different from this audiobook version because back in June I took one finding at a time and talked more about the discoveries found as a result of this 100 day experiment. If you listen to and share anything this week, may it...

The Confusion Experiment Audiobook - Days 90-100
As I entered the last ten days of my experiment, I was clearly changed by my experience. Meditation allowed me to distance myself from myself to such a degree that I became the observer of everything I am, everything I think and the patterns of behavior I was trapped in. I was learning about self-love, something my upbringing deemed as selfish. Now I saw it as selfless. I transcended my roles of daughter, sister, friend and ascended to the experience of my divine self. Even still, on day 94, I put my meditation off till the evening however this time...

The Confusion Experiment Audiobook - Days 60-75
There's no doubt about it. My weekend retreat with Michael Beckwith propelled my transformation. As if meditating for one hour a day wasn't enough, I head off into the California desert for two full days of silence. Life changing. As we continue through my 100 days of meditation, there is a noticeable difference in my experience while meditating and you hear it in my sharing. Day 60 starts off with a poweful command to the Universe: I'm ready for change. Little did I know I'd go on to create a transformational program called, "Ready for Change" with now over 85 graduates. Seeds...

Here we are at the half way point of my 100 day meditaiton experiment and you can definitely notice how my sharing is starting to shift. The deep space and place to which meditating for an hour every day has brought me is starting to change me. It's certainly changing what I'm talking about as the insights filling my awareness are taking on a higher realm of perspective. In these next 14 days, I am clearly beginning the journey from my head to my heart and what a long strange trip it's been! In fact, Day 50 is entitled, "How can I...

The Confusion Experiment Audiobook - Days 35 - 45
As I approached the mid-way point of my 100 day experiment, you can begin to hear how my daily sharing is changing. As meditating for an hour everyday brings me deeper into myself, more and more is being revealed and experienced. Thus is the process of a daily meditation practice. In time, you begin to detach from experiencing yourself as your thoughts and begin to observe them as a separate experience. This is a HUGH shift and in and of itself heals. Meditation allows us to go from "I am confused" to "There is confusion." This too is a tremendous...

The Confusion Experiment Audiobook - Days 20 - 34
Most personal transformations, periods of self-growth are just that: personal. But I choose to put the camera in the chrysalis to offer a front row seat to what transformation of one's mind, heart and self looks and sounds like. It's really quite an extraordinary experiment: a complete deconstruction of my thoughts and an understanding into how and why my mind works the way it does so as to reconstruct it with conscious awareness. In days 20 - 34 of meditating for an hour everyday for 100 days, I cover quite a bit. Here's how I titled these days....

The Confusion Experiment Audiobook - Days 1-19
The Confusion Experiment came about to see if meditation could heal my confusion. The experiment was to meditate for 100 days for one hour everyday and then to grab my phone afterwards and record whatever came out of me! Those 100 days are the equivalent to putting a camera inside the chrysalis. My transformation mirrors that of the catepillar into the butterfly: painful, messy, sacred. To have documented such personal growth is really quite extraordinary and I'll forever be grateful to Kyle Cease for the challenge. The Confusion Experiment - The Audiobook - Chapter 6 & 7
This week's episode of The Confusion Experiment podcast features the last two chapters of the audiobook before the 100 day experiment begins. Chapter six, "F**K Clarity" is the story of the dam's wall cracking and breaking as the water it has held back comes rushing forward. Chapter six also reveals the agreement I make to Kyle Cease for what would become "The Confusion Experiment." I truly had no idea what I was saying yes to but knew I had to leave that weekend...

These are uncertain times. But why has uncertainty gotten such a bad reputation? Well, that's because we have placed a high value on knowing. Inter-generational Racial Healing with Kokayi Nosakhere - Episode 21
Five weeks in to the new show and I sit down with Kokayi Nosakhere who is dedicated to educating us on inter-generational racial trauma that resides in our nervous system. What's fascinating about this theory is that it exists in both the victim and the perpetrator and the steps necessary for this healing to take place. It's a truly engaging and interesting conversation that leaves us all with three steps that we can take right now to begin to not just dismantle the inequality inherent in our society but to rebuild from an agreed upon value: community.

Another construct I had to let go of was how I measured success. In radio, success is measured by the size of the audience. It is so important that the hour is divided into quarter hour measurements. The radio station with the biggest audience won and the DJ with the most listeners won and that made the sales people win because then they could raise their prices and make more money. It’s about listening to your heart, getting familiar with its language and trusting its guidance. Here’s why that’s impo...

The Findings - #10 The heart goes by feelings.
I’ll give you an example. I have really strong instincts; I’m sure you do, too. Throughout my spiritual journey, using my practices and tools, my intuition has gotten sharper. So when I left Alaska in 2013 and left my home, my career and my life behind, I knew I was ready for something else, something more, something that would take all the different aspects of who I was and bring them together, unified. I didn’t know what it was I was ready for, but I had a feeling it would find me and I would recognize it. I trus...

The Findings - #9 The heart is more like a GPS
A GPS doesn’t give you every direction all at once before you leave the driveway; you’d never get anywhere. Once you identify where it is you want to go, the GPS figures out the “how” and tells you one direction at a time and you trust it to get you where you’ve told it you want to go. That’s exactly how the heart works. The instructions from the heart come after you leap through instinct and intuition, the GPS of the heart. If your heart is telling you to do something, believe that it’s important...

The Findings - #8 The mind needs to know.
We have an obsession with knowing. Vision boards, goals, five year plans, day planners, time management, to-do lists, all so that you know what you’re doing, where you’re going, and how you’ll get there. This obsession with knowing places a high value on the mind, so much so that I can now see that sometimes when I thought I was using my mind, my mind was really using me! In addition, the mind doesn’t like the way the heart works. The mind wants to determine a new moment based on what’s already familiar...

The Findings - #7 We are not our thoughts.
For many weeks in the beginning of this experiment, I was tumbling and twisting and rolling inside a tornado of my thoughts. “I am confused. I am sad. I am unhappy.” I believed I was those thoughts. I identified myself with them, as them. After several weeks of meditation, I felt like I was sucked out of that whirlwind and put right on the edge of it. I still felt the pull into this crazy vortex of thoughts, but I started to question – "Wait a minute. AM I confused? AM I confusion?" Then after a while, I...

The Findings - #6 Meditation shows you things.
Some amazing things happened while I meditated - the lava lamp stuff I talk about in the book, the tingling sensation in my head, feeling like I was snatched out of time and space - but so much more happened afterwards. My morning hour of meditation gave me realizations throughout the rest of the day, no matter what I was doing. Answers came quickly. Lost items were found easily. Things flowed without my effort and the insights I had around personal growth issues that had been plaguing me for years popped up in my conscious mind as nuggets of...

The Findings - #4 There is no method of meditation.
Not to say that there aren't different teachings that are valid and worthwhile because I too teach different "types" of meditation. However, I now believe that there is no necessary method. If you think there's a method that delays the experience. "I have to go find the method because I don't know what is it. Somebody has to teach me." No. The method of meditation is get a chair. Sit down. Set the timer on your phone for 60 minutes or six. Close your eyes. Get the popcorn and watch the show. That's it. And the next day, do it...

The Findings - #3 Meditation is not about the elimination of your thoughts.
The mind’s job is to think. It’s like a manufacturing warehouse, churning out thoughts all day and all night. When we go to sleep, the mind is still creating thoughts - your thoughts, my thoughts, everybody’s thoughts. I believe they swirl around at night while we’re asleep, waiting. Then when you wake up – sometimes before you even open your eyes – they come rushing in! Thoughts, thoughts and more thoughts! So meditation is NOT about stopping thoughts. They’re here to stay. Also, meditation is very quick with the impact it has on the body. Though I left Kyle Ce...

The Findings - #1 Meditation is really the honing of the skill to be still.
Meditation is about the practice of sitting with yourself, which is actually very difficult for most people to do because we’re not comfortable being with ourselves. We’re also very addicted to stimulation and the idea of having none for an hour - let alone 15 minutes - is terrifying for most people. We’ve also convinced ourselves that we don’t have the time. That’s why meditation is a practice. By doing it everyday, you strengthen your meditation muscle and become more comfortable simply being with yourself. From the book, "The Confusion Experiment."
