道听途说杨福东：影像之外，意会的气息 2021年首期「道听途说」的对谈嘉宾是中国最有影响力的当代艺术家之一杨福东。杨福东的作品以极具个人风格的东方古典意蕴与先锋移动影像观念闻名。在近年来的创作中，他面向影像创作本身的定义、观看的边界、媒介与叙事的关系等方面进行实践与挑战。以中国美学思想的重要范畴“意会”为一脉核心，艺术家从历史文化的剖面深化和再创造，持续探讨人类精神生活的本质。
与杨福东的对话从他近期的个展《无限的山峰》开启。这场影像、绘画、摄影和多媒体装置等媒介兼容并蓄的展览，宛若一件在空间中无限延展的整体艺术作品，用多重视角构筑着辽阔且充满想象力的叙事结构，在意象中穿梭的同时，并不着急为观者提供确切释义。
类似意会的气息在杨福东过往创作中同样有迹可循。无论是讨论知识分子与普通生活之间暧昧疏离的《陌生天堂》，还是描摹乌托邦式理想生活的《竹林七贤》，或是纪实感十分强烈的《雀村往东》，都在流动的视觉语言中，埋藏了不少若隐若现，不可言传的人文精神须知和追求。
这期播客节目的上线，也开启了「道听途说」全新的艺术家对谈系列子栏目「Untitled·无定义」。借由与创作者的直接对话，我们试图在有限的时间里探寻未见之处，将讨论拉回艺术实践本身，强调艺术创作与艺术家自身文化脉络之外现实世界的上下文关系，并运用相对通俗的思维方式关注文化传统的更迭。系列中，我们想要提出的核心问题，用格罗伊斯的话来说，就是艺术为什么必须充满生命力，“生机勃发”到底意味着什么？
