Ahamed, L. 500 Year Diary: A Doctor Who Podcast
Dark Doubles (Horror of Fang Rock)
Saturday 3 September 1977 Horror of Fang Rock Terrance’s planned vampire story has been unexpectedly cancelled, and he has only a few weeks to come up with a replacement. Fortunately, he’s brilliant. Melvin Peña joins us to discuss Horror of Fang Rock. Notes and links Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu (1814–1873) was an Irish writer best known for his gothic stories, including the short story Carmilla (1872), which is a foundational vampire story, predating Bram Stoker’s Dracula by 25 years. It’s likely that Terrance Dicks named his vampire queen Camilla after Le Fanu’s char...

Historia kieleckich ulic.

Overview of the World System of Bondage UPDATED - Part 2 - The Implementation of Full Containment
If There is much to glean from past history. The containment field began post-Civil War with the Civil Rights Act of 1866, which introduced Roman civil law into the American system. Roman civil law, historically used for managing conquered territories, was extended to Europe, Latin America, and the U.S. between the 1860s and 1930s.As things evolved, more restrictions were introduced through the legal and monetary systems. These fused law and equity, replacing true legal principles with civil codes and procedures, such as the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure (FRCP) established in the 1930s, following...

Pick|🎵 Into My ArmsNick Cave & The Bad Seeds 于 1997 年发行的经典歌曲,收录在专辑 The Boatman’s Call 中。
17 - Bury Me Not on the Lone Prairie: Introducing John A. and Ruby T. Lomax's 1939 Texas recordings
Between 1933 and 1946, John A. Lomax made some 80 hours of recordings in the state of Texas, his home state. (John was born in Mississippi in 1867, but his family moved to rural Bosque County, Texas, near Waco, just after his second birthday.) It’s a massive amount of material, reflecting an extraordinary diversity of vernacular traditions, and featuring the first and last recordings that John made. We’ve labored for quite a few years to secure the funding to digitize, catalog, and make available the collection in its entirety, but have to date come up short.

55: The 100-miler - Part 2 (1874-1878) Women Pedestrians
By Davy Crockett Competitions to walk or run 100 miles have taken place for more than 300 years. Part 1 (1737-1875) of this series shared the very early attempts to reach this ultra-distance milestone on foot. By 1867, walking 100 miles in one-go started to receive intense attention, especially in America. A multi-year 100-mile frenzy was launched. In this part, the story is told how the 100-mile craze expanded. In 1878, thanks to those in England, the 100-miler opened up to runners who could “go as you please” rather than sticking to a strict “heel-toe” walking style that was emphasized in America. That year, well over one hundr...
