2020年6月4日，江苏常州金坛区河滨小学一五年级学生缪可馨，从教室跑出，翻越栏杆坠楼身亡。她曾在一篇命题作文，《三打白骨精》读后感中写“不要被表面的样子，虚情假意伪善的一面所蒙骗。在如今的社会里，有人表面看着善良，可内心却是阴暗的。他们会利用各种各样的卑鄙手段和阴谋诡计，来达到自己不可告人的目的。” 而这篇作文被老师批注“负能量”。事件后续得到了巨大的传播和发酵因为其中体现了学生创作作文和老师对内容的期待之间的矛盾，以及什么是正能量的思考。
具体来说，工人阶级的父母强调 "没有借口 "的问题解决方式，鼓励孩子尊重教师的权威，不寻求帮助。而中产阶级的父母则教授 "不择手段 "的问题解决方式，敦促孩子们与教师协商，以获得帮助。
