Потому что еще в бородатых семидесятых в Нью-Йорке, в Южном Бронксе, ди-джеи вырезали барабанные сбивки (так называемые "брейки"), пытались их зацикливать для того, чтобы би-боям было удобно танцевать. Однако музыка тех времен так же была совершенно не похожа на то, что современный клаббер может назвать брейкбитом.Первая волна странной музыки, которую заводили английские ди-джеи, гдене было "прямой бочки", а было очень много барабанов, и которая была раза в два быстрее хип-хопа, пришлась в аккурат к моменту проведения первых нелегальных рейвов. "Bedrock records" открыли специальный подлейбл "Bedrock breaks", а на "Global Underground" вышли два breaks-микса Джеймса Лавелля (James Lavelle), человека известного по работам в проекте "Unkle" и являющегося главой лейбла "Mo'Wax", где выпускается различного рода интересная электронная музыка.Английские средства массовой информации также вовсю стараются показаться модными и актуальными, и постоянно пишут о брейксовых музыкантах. А радиостанция "BBC radio 1" уделяет этому жанру самое пристальное внимание – на этом радио выходит специальная программа, посвященная ломанным ритмам (не драм-энд-бейсу, заметьте), которую ведет 45-ти летняя ведущая Энни Найтингел (Annie Nightingale).Добавьте к этому ведущего вероятно самой главной программы в Великобритании о танцевальной музыке "Essential selection" Пита Тонга (Pete Tong), который говорит что без ума от "Evil 9" (новые звезды на breaks-сцене) и "Plump DJ's" (самые натуральные звезды танцевальной музыки), обожает танцевать под breaks и регулярно ставит новые треки брейксовых команд. А "Radio 1" даже иногда организует "Брейкс уикенды", где целые выходные в эфире национальной радиостанции звучит breaks. Представляете?Брейкс-сцена настолько выросла и окрепла, что уже заимела собственнуюцеремонию награждения "Breakspool", а в США и Австралии появились собственные, пускай маленькие, но очень сильные брейксовые ди-джеи и музыканты, вроде "The Crystal Method" и Фила Крокидиса (Phil K).К сожалению, в России, почему-то привыкли считать, что брейкбит - это музыка для мрачных подростков. Однако - это далеко не так. Потому что если мы скажем, что первые брейкбитовые пластинки появились в Англии, во времена первых нелегальных рейвов, то мы будем несколько неправы. Потому что еще в бородатых семидесятых в Нью-Йорке, в Южном Бронксе, ди-джеи вырезали барабанные сбивки (так называемые "брейки"), пытались их зацикливать для того, чтобы би-боям было удобно танцевать. Однако музыка тех времен так же была совершенно не похожа на то, что современный клаббер может назвать брейкбитом.Первая волна странной музыки, которую заводили английские ди-джеи, гдене было "прямой бочки", а было очень много барабанов, и которая была раза в два быстрее хип-хопа, пришлась в аккурат к моменту проведения первых нелегальных рейвов. В самом конце 80-х, когда танцевальнаясцена Великобритании начала разделяться на клубную и рейв-сцены, промоутеры и ди-джеи начали находить в груде новых, как правило ацетатных пластинок, музыку, совершенно по-новому звучащую. Это музыка отличалась от хауса, который крутился в маленьких клубах, где собиралась достаточно обеспеченная публика. Качающая ритмика и мрачное, "темное" настроение этой музыки, отлично вписывались в атмосферу, царившую на рейвах, где собирались по пять-десять тысяч человек за ночь.Эта музыка состояла из ускоренных "брейков", и несла в себе достаточно агрессивную энергию. Из той мешанины звуков постепенно родились три стиля – хардкор, джангл (который со временем стал называться drum'n'bass) и breakbeat. Все эти три стиля, в то время, были исключительно музыкой рейвов, подростков с рюкзаками за плечами и с коктейлем из наркотиков в крови. Из всех трех долго протянул лишь джангл, который сформировался в отдельный музыкальный жанр. Хардкор, от пластинки к пластинке становился все быстрее и быстрее и, как показала история, окончательно зашел в тупик в своем развитии. А breakbeat получил неожиданную массовую популярность, которую ему принес первый альбом "The Prodigy – Experience".Шло время, хаус-музыка (равно как и джангл) окрепла и сформировалась, представляя из себя, на сегодняшний день, целую музыкальную вселенную со своими артистами, многочисленными поджанрами и своей инфраструктурой. Популярность брейкбита снизилась, но люди, которые помнили, как приятно было танцевать под не такие ломанные, как в джангле, ритмы, все равно остались и всячески пытались возродить брейкбит из пепла и забвения.Где-то в 1997 году, три человека, истово верящие в свои возможности и в любимую музыку, начали делать первые вечеринки с музыкой, которую невозможно было услышать по радио или купить в магазинах. Звали этих людей Tayo, Адам Фрилэнд (Adam Freeland) и Рэнни Пилгрем (Rennie Pilgrem). Место называлось "Friction" (это был небольшой бар в Брайтоне), а музыку, которая звучала в этом заведении, посетители и ди-джеи стали называть "nuskool breaks" (или просто "брейкс"). Так, по-тихому, состоялось второе рождение брейкбита. Отсутствие информации в СМИ, андеграундный характер этих пати, привели к тому, что постепенно вокруг этих вечеринок сложилась своя тусовка, где ди-джеи, музыканты и ценители менялись записями (зачастую сделанными в собственных домашних студиях). Не обращая особого внимания на практически полное отсутствие каких бы то ни было внешних факторов и массового интереса, тусовка росла и крепла.Вскоре, начали появляться лейблы, артисты и ди-джеи эту музыку истово пропагандирующие. Это музыка была любима взрослыми людьми, которые страстно интересовались музыкой. Ведь это был самый настоящий андеграунд. Подростки в это время танцевали под транс, более взрослые клабберы слушали прогрессив-хаус, который в то время был на волне, и думали, что это и есть танцевальный андеграунд для избранных. Однако, ухающий прямой ритм рано или поздно начинал надоедать, и люди хотели чего-то такого же привычно танцевального, но только чтобы это не выглядело так привычно.И где-то, в самом начале этого десятилетия, самые авангардные хаус-ди-джеи, начали вставлять брейкбитовые треки в сэты, переполненные однотипной "ухающей" музыкой. Видя, как принимают эту "необычно звучащую" музыку на танцполе, многие промоутеры начали приглашать брейкбитовых ди-джеев на свои вечеринки, ставить их на главные танцполы или отдавать им один танцпол. Так поступил Джон Дигвид (John Digweed), который на своих вечеринках "Bedrock" отдал второй танцпол под breakbeat, там выступали самые интересные брейкбитовые ди-джеи.Приблизительно в то же время breakbeat-сцена начала вылезать из маленьких клубов и пабов на большие танцполы. Вероятно, в то же время появились те самые команды, которые сегодня стали звездами в Англии или Австралии, где breakbeat чудовищно популярен. Люди, приходившие на брейкбитовые вечеринки, понимали что "отрываться" (вот именно что отрываться!) можно не только под хаус, но и под breaks, причем под брейкс – это куда как приятнее! Breaks уже не нес в себе негатив и подростковую агрессию. И не ассоциировался с наркотиками, как это было прежде. Breaks – это, конечно же, угар, но угар уже какой-то специфический. Здесь угар в танце и есть самая главная прелесть. Наверное, это все от того, что ди-джеи, которые этот жанр пропагандируют и играют, всегда верят в то, что они делают, заражая клабберов своим отношением к этой музыке. Breaks уже давно не break, в том смысле что ритм в новых брейкбитовых треках самый что ни на есть прямой, и танцевать под такую музыку можно так же, как и под хаус или техно. Только тут еще прыгать хочется и визжать, прям как на рок-концертах!Постепенно breakbeat (или "breaks", как многие называют это направление сейчас) стал поставщиком всех тех "бомб", которые могли взорвать любой танцпол на раз-два. Все без исключения коммерческие хаус-ди-джеи стараются уделять внимание брейксу. Популярность жанра достигла такого уровня, что даже такие ведущие лейблы как "Global Underground" и "Bedrock records" (которые изначально специализировались на прогрессив-хаус музыке) начали уделять внимание breaks, как направлению чрезвычайно актуальному и интересному. "Bedrock records" открыли специальный подлейбл "Bedrock breaks", а на "Global Underground" вышли два breaks-микса Джеймса Лавелля (James Lavelle), человека известного по работам в проекте "Unkle" и являющегося главой лейбла "Mo'Wax", где выпускается различного рода интересная электронная музыка.Английские средства массовой информации также вовсю стараются показаться модными и актуальными, и постоянно пишут о брейксовых музыкантах. А радиостанция "BBC radio 1" уделяет этому жанру самое пристальное внимание – на этом радио выходит специальная программа, посвященная ломанным ритмам (не драм-энд-бейсу, заметьте), которую ведет 45-ти летняя ведущая Энни Найтингел (Annie Nightingale).Добавьте к этому ведущего вероятно самой главной программы в Великобритании о танцевальной музыке "Essential selection" Пита Тонга (Pete Tong), который говорит что без ума от "Evil 9" (новые звезды на breaks-сцене) и "Plump DJ's" (самые натуральные звезды танцевальной музыки), обожает танцевать под breaks и регулярно ставит новые треки брейксовых команд. А "Radio 1" даже иногда организует "Брейкс уикенды", где целые выходные в эфире национальной радиостанции звучит breaks. Представляете?Брейкс-сцена настолько выросла и окрепла, что уже заимела собственнуюцеремонию награждения "Breakspool", а в США и Австралии появились собственные, пускай маленькие, но очень сильные брейксовые ди-джеи и музыканты, вроде "The Crystal Method" и Фила Крокидиса (Phil K).К сожалению, в России, почему-то привыкли считать, что брейкбит - это музыка для мрачных подростков. Однако - это далеко не так. Эта музыка эволюционировала после рейвов 80-х до неузнаваемости, и сегодня ее слушают истинные ценители.Брейкс – это музыка, которая, прежде всего, предназначена для танца, для того, чтобы можно было получить наслаждение в танце, полностью раскрепоститься и отдаться на растерзание ди-джея. Да и после десятилетий правления "прямого ритма" на танцполах, танцевать под что-то новое, звучащее несколько иначе и непривычно - просто приятно, согласитесь?! Возможно, пусть с опозданием, наши промоутеры поймут, что хаус - это, конечно, хорошо. И техно – тоже круто.
