శ్వాస తీసుకోవడంలో తీవ్ర ఇబ్బంది ఉన్నప్పుడు, ఒంట్లో బాగా నీరసంగా ఉన్నప్పుడు, పెదవులు ముఖం నీలి రంగులోకి మారడం గమనించినప్పుడు, చాతి లో నిరంతరం నొప్పిలా అనిపిస్తున్నప్పుడు, డయేరియా, వాంతులు అవుతుంటే వెంటనే స్థానికంగా ఉండే ఆరోగ్య సిబ్బందిని లేదా వైద్యులను సంప్రదించాలని లేదా 108 కు కాల్ చేయాలని వుంది..

ప్రతీ రోజూ రెండుసార్లు 1% సోడియం హైపోక్లోరైట్ ద్రావణంతో గదిని శుభ్రపరచుకోమని లలితకు చెప్పాడు.
లలిత గదికి ఉన్న అటాచెడ్ బాత్ రూం లో గీజర్ వుంది.
రెండు పూటలా వేడినీళ్ళతో బట్టలను ఉతికి ఆరేసుకొమ్మని చెప్పేవాడు.

"నా తమ్మున్ని జైల్లో పెడితే చేతకాని మొగాడిలా కూర్చున్నారు. ఇప్పుడేమో ఇది ఎక్కడెక్కడో తిరిగి పాడు రోగం అంటించుకొని వస్తే దాన్ని తన్ని తగలేయకుండా యింట్లో వుంచుకుంటారా? నేనూ, నాపిల్లలు చావాలనేనా మీ పన్నాగం. ముందు దాన్ని ఇంటిలోనుండి పంపించేయండి. అది యింటిలో వుంటే నేనూ, నాపిల్లలు చచ్చిపోతాం. ఒక్క క్షణం కూడా అది యింటిలో వుండటానికి వీలులేదు. అది యింటిలో వుంటే యిప్పుడే నేనూ, నాపిల్లలు నూతిలో దూకి చస్తాం."

ఆశ్రమం ను అధికారులు వెళ్లి తనిఖీ చేసారు.
ఆ రిపోర్ట్ ఇంతవరకు బయటకు రాలేదు.
ఆ రిపోర్ట్ బయటకు రాకుండా ఎవరో అడ్డుపడుతున్నారు.
ఈ విషయం లో తను అనవసరంగా కలుగ చేసుకోవటం ఎందుకని ఊరుకున్నాడు రఘుపతి.
సంక్రాంతి పండుగ అయిపోగానే కళ్యాణిని, పిల్లలను హైదరాబాద్ లో దిగబెట్టి వచ్చాడు రాజా.
వెళ్ళేముందు కళ్యాణి తో " కళ్యాణీ నువ్వు ఇప్పుడు ఈ ఇంటి సభ్యురాలివి. నీకు ఎప్పుడు ఏ అవసరం వచ్చినా నిస్సంకోచంగా మాకు ఫోన్ చేయి. అర్ధరాత్రి అయినా, అపరాత్రి అయినా సందేహించవద్దు.
పది పదిహేను రోజులకోసారి మా ముగ్గురిలో ఎవరో ఒకరు వస్తూపోతూ వుంటాం. పిల్లలికి మోహన్ గురించి అసలు నిజం చెప్పవద్దు. పిల్లలు అడిగితే విదేశాలలో ఉద్యోగం కోసం వెళ్ళాడని, రెండు సంవత్సరాల దాకా రాడని చెప్పు.
వారికి గ్రహించుకునే వయసు వచ్చాక చెప్పవచ్చు. నీ ప్రోగ్రాం విషయాలు ఎప్పటికప్పుడు తెలియ చేస్తూ వుండు. జాగ్రత్త. " అని చెప్పి పంపించాడు రఘుపతి.

కళ్యాణి ని చూడగానే రాజాకు ఆమెతో పరిచయం, స్నేహం అన్నీ ఒక్కసారిగా మదిలో మెదిలాయి.
నాలుగు రోజుల క్రితం ఫోన్ చేసినప్పుడు సంక్రాంతి పండగకు రమ్మని చెప్పాడు. గీతమ్స్ కాలేజీలో ప్రోగ్రామ్ వుందని దాదాపుగా రాకపోవచ్చని చెప్పింది.
కళ్యాణి సంగతులన్నీ యింట్లో అందరికీ చెప్పాడు. సంక్రాంతి కి రమ్మని ఆహ్వానించిన విషయం కూడా చెప్పాడు.
అనుకోకుండా సడన్ గా వచ్చిన ఆమె రాక రాజాకు ఆశ్చర్యాన్ని కలుగచేసింది.
"ఎంత సేపయింది కళ్యాణీ వచ్చి?పిల్లలు కూడా వచ్చారా?" అని అడుగుతూ అక్కడున్న కుర్చీలో కూర్చున్నాడు.
వదిన వైపు చూస్తూ "వదినా తను కళ్యాణి.." అంటూ చెప్పబోతుండగా విశాల అతన్ని ఆపి
"రాజా, తను వచ్చి చాలా సేపు అయింది. మా పరిచయాలన్నీ ముగిసాయి. పిల్లలు అన్నం తిని తిలక్ రూం లో చేరి కబుర్లు చెప్పుకుంటున్నారు. తను మనతో ఏదో మాట్లాడాలని వచ్చింది. నీకోసమే ఎదురు చూస్తున్నాం" అంది.
రాజా కళ్యాణి ముఖం లోకి చూసాడు.

అప్పటినుండి ఇద్దరిమధ్య అడపాతడపా ఫోన్ సంభాషణలు నడిచేవి. ‘మీరు’ నుండి ‘నువ్వు’ అని పిలుచుకునే చనువు ఏర్పడింది ఇద్దరిమధ్య. వదినకు కళ్యాణి గురించి ఆమె చేస్తున్న సోషల్ సర్వీస్ గురించి చెప్పాడు.
వారింటిలో ఉన్న స్మార్ట్ టీవి లో యుట్యూబ్ లో ఉన్న కళ్యాణి ఉపన్యాసాన్ని ఇంటిల్లిపాదికీ చూపించాడు. అందరూ అంత చిన్న వయసులో ఆమె చేస్తున్న కృషిని కొనియాడారు.
కాలేజీ ప్రాజెక్ట్ వర్క్ మెటీరియల్ కోసం హైదరాబాదు వెళ్ళినప్పుడు కళ్యాణికి ఫోన్ చేసి యూనివర్సిటీకి వెళ్ళి కలిసాడు రాజా.
యూనివర్సిటీ నుంచి ఆ రోజు ఇద్దరూ కలసి బిర్లా మందిర్ కు వెళ్ళారు. దైవదర్శనం తరువాత జనసమ్మర్దం లేని చోట కూర్చున్నారు.
తన గురించి తన కుటుంబం గురించి రాజా కళ్యాణికి చెప్పాడు. కానీ కళ్యాణి తనగురించి ఎపుడూ చెప్పలేదు.
రెండు మూడు సార్లు ఫోన్ లో అడిగినా చెప్పకుండా దాటేసేది.
"కళ్యాణీ, ఎప్పుడడిగినా నీ గురించి ఏమీ చెప్పలేదు. నీ గురించి మా యింట్లో అందరకు తెలుసు. నీ స్పీచెస్ కూడా విన్నారు. ఈ రోజన్నా నీ సంగతులు చెప్పు" అడిగాడు రాజా.

జరిగిన కథ
కాలేజీ లెక్చరర్ గా పని చేస్తుంటాడు రఘుపతి. కాలేజ్ దగ్గర స్పృహ కోల్పోయి పడున్న స్త్రీని చూస్తాడు. ఆ యువతిని, గ్రామంలో తమ ప్రత్యర్థి సీతయ్య బావమరిది శేషగిరితో చూసినట్లు పోలీసులతో చెబుతాడు.
స్పృహ వచ్చిన ఆ యువతి- తన పేరు కమల అనీ, తనని శేషగిరి, అతని స్నేహితులు సామూహిక అత్యాచారం చేశారనీ చెబుతుంది. కమలకు తన ఇంట్లో ఆశ్రయం కల్పిస్తాడు రఘుపతి.
రాఘవ, సీతయ్య ల ఘర్షణలో అడ్డు వెళ్లిన రఘుపతి గాయం అవుతుంది.
రఘుపతి కోలుకుంటాడు. అతని కోరిక మీద రాఘవ ఎడ్ల పందాలలో పాల్గొని గెలుస్తాడు.

కాలేజీకి వెళ్ళగానే నోటీసు బోర్డులో ఉన్న ఒక సమాచారం రాజారాం దృష్టికి వచ్చింది.
సాయంత్రం 5 గంటలకు కాలేజీ ఆడిటోరియంలో 'అవయవ దానం' పై కుమారి కళ్యాణి ప్రసంగం ఉంటుంది. అభిరుచి, ఆసక్తి వున్నవాళ్లు హాజరు కావచ్చు అని దాని సారాంశం.
సోషల్ సర్వీస్ మీద ఉత్సుకత చూపించే రాజా సాయంత్రం కాలేజీ క్లాసులు అయిపోగానే కొంత మంది స్నేహితులతో కలసి ఆడిటోరియం కు వెళ్ళాడు.
డయాస్ పైకి చూపు సారిస్తూనే ఒక్కక్షణం విస్తుపోయాడు రాజారాం.
ముగ్ధ మనోహర సుకుమార లావణ్యవతి, ఇరవై ఏళ్ళ లేలేత జవ్వని వున్నది అక్కడ.
ఈమేనా ఈ టాపిక్ డీల్ చేసేది అని సంశయించాడు.
కాలేజీ కుర్రవాళ్ళ సంగతి తనకు తెలుసు. ఉపన్యసించడంలో ఏమాత్రం తటపటాయించినా తాటాకులు కడతారు. పిల్లికూతలు కూస్తూ కార్యక్రమమాన్ని రసాభాస చేస్తారు. ఏ కొద్దిగో చెపుదామని వచ్చిన వారు ఆ కంగారులో అది కాస్తా మరచిపోయి అభాసుపాలవుతారు.
సన్నగా, పొడుగ్గా, చలాకీగా కనిపిస్తున్న ఆ అమ్మాయిని జాలిగా చూసాడు.
కాలేజీ ప్రిన్సిపాల్ గారు మైక్ దగ్గరకొచ్చి "చాలా చిన్న వయసు లోనే కుమారి కళ్యాణి గారు 'అవయవ దానం' అనే విషయం మీద అనర్గళంగా మాట్లాడుతున్నారు.
టీ వీ లో కూడా వీరి ఉపన్యాసాలు వచ్చాయి.
దేశం లోని చాలా యూనివర్సిటీలలో, ప్రముఖ కాలేజీలలో వీరు వందలకొద్దీ ప్రసంగాలు చేసారు.
ఎన్నో కళాశాలలు, స్వచ్చందసంస్థలు వీరిని ఆహ్వానించి వారి దగ్గర ఉపన్యసించమని కోరుతున్నారు. మన కాలేజీ ఆహ్వానాన్ని పురస్కరించుకొని ఈ రోజు మనదగ్గరకు వచ్చారు. మీరంతా వారు చెప్పేది విని ఇష్టమైన
వారు అవయవ దానానికి మీ పేర్లు రిజిస్టర్ చేసుకోవచ్చు.
ఇప్పుడు కళ్యాణి గారు మాట్లాడుతారు."
అంటూ ఆయన డయాన్ నుండి క్రిందికి దిగారు.
కళ్యాణి మైక్ దగ్గరకు వచ్చింది.
అడిటోరియం అంతా కలయచూస్తూ "సభకు నమస్కారం" అన్నది.
కోయిల గానంలా ఆమె స్వరం ఆ అడిటోరియం ను పరవశింపచేసింది.

స్పృహ వచ్చిన ఆ యువతి తన పేరు కమల అనీ తనని శేషగిరి, అతని స్నేహితులు సామూహిక అత్యాచారం చేశారనీ చెబుతుంది. కమలకు తన ఇంట్లో ఆశ్రయం కల్పిస్తాడు రఘుపతి.
రాఘవ, సీతయ్య ల ఘర్షణలో అడ్డు వెళ్లిన రఘుపతి గాయం అవుతుంది.

పొలంలో సీతయ్యతో గొడవ పడుతుండగా తనచేతి కర్ర దెబ్బ అన్నయ్య తలను చీల్చటం చూసి బాధతో కృంగి పోయాడు రాఘవ.
హాస్పిటల్ లో చేర్చాక రక్తం కావాలంటే తనే ఇచ్చాడు.
రాజా ఇస్తానన్నా వద్దని మొండికేసి ఎంత రక్తం కావాలన్నా తన శరీరం నుండే తీయాలని ఏడుస్తూ డాక్టర్ కు మొరబెట్టుకున్నాడు.
రఘుపతికి స్పృహ వచ్చేదాకా పచ్చి మంచినీళ్లు కూడా ముట్టనన్నాడు. కంటికీమంటికీ ఏకధాటిగా ఏడుస్తూనే వున్నాడు.
అన్నయ్యను కొట్టిన చేయి వుండకూడదని హాస్పిటల్ లో తలుపు సండులో చేయి పెట్టి తలుపు బలంగా లాగబోయాడు. రాజా చూసి ఆపుచేసాడు. అప్పటినుండి ఎవరోఒకరు నిరంతరం రాఘవను కనిపెట్టుకొని వుండేవారు.
మగత వీడి రఘుపతి నెమ్మదిగా కళ్ళు తెరిచాడు.
చుట్టూ పరికించాడు.
ICU లో బెడ్ మీద వున్నాడు.
చేతికి సెలైన్ పెట్టివుంది.
తలంతా దిమ్ముగా, భారంగా వుంది. రఘుపతి కళ్ళు తెరవటం చూసి ప్రక్కనే వున్న నర్స్" డాక్టర్" అంటూ డ్యూటీలో వున్న డాక్టర్ ను పిలిచింది.
డాక్టర్ వచ్చి రఘుపతిని చూసాడు.
BP చెక్ చేస్తూ" మీ పేరు?"అడిగాడు.
" రఘుపతి" నీరసంగా బదులు పలికాడు రఘుపతి.
"గుడ్. చాలా త్వరగా రికవరీ అవుతున్నారు. ప్రస్తుతం మీరు ICU లో వున్నారు. రేపుగానీ, ఎల్లుండి గానీ జనరల్ రూం కి షిఫ్ట్ చేస్తాము. అంతవరకు మీరు ఎవరితో ఎక్కువుగా మాట్లాడకూడదు. మీకు స్పృహ వచ్చిందని మీ వారికి చెపుతాను. టేక్ రెస్ట్" అని డాక్టర్ ఇవ్వవలసిన మందులు, ఇంజక్షన్లు నర్స్ కు చెప్పి బయటికి నడిచాడు.
అక్కడ వేచివున్న రఘుపతి కుటుంబ సభ్యులకు
రఘుపతి స్పృహలోకి వచ్చిన విషయం చెప్పాడు.
రఘుపతి కి స్పృహ వచ్చిందన్న వార్త విని అందరూ వూపిరి పీల్చుకున్నారు.
"యిక మీరంతా ఇంటికెళ్లి రేపురండి. వారి మిసెస్ ఒక్కరు ఇక్కడ వుంటారు." అని చెప్పాడు. రాఘవ తాను కూడా ఆసుపత్రిలోనే వుంటానన్నాడు.
రాఘవ అన్నయ్య కాళ్ళపై పడి ఏడుస్తూ వుండిపోయాడు.
విశాలే అతన్ని దగ్గరకు తీసుకుని ఓదార్చింది.

తెల్లవారి రఘుపతి ని జనరల్ రూం కు షిఫ్ట్ చేసారు.
హాస్పిటల్ కి SI ప్రభాకర్ వచ్చాడు రఘుపతిని వెతుక్కుంటూ.
"ఎలా వున్నారు?" అని అడిగాడు.
"ఫరవాలేదు. బాగానే వున్నాను."

బలరామయ్య వారికి రఘుపతి, రాఘవ, రాజారాం అని పేర్లు పెట్టాడు. ముగ్గురూ తాతగారి స్వాతంత్ర పోరాట కథలను వింటూ పెరిగారు. ముగ్గురిలో రఘుపతి నెమ్మదైన వాడు. రాఘవ కొద్దిగా ఆవేశపరుడు. రాజా మధ్యస్తంగా వుండేవాడు.
రఘుపతి M . sc . చదివి కాలేజ్ సర్వీస్ కమీషన్ పరీక్ష పాస్ అయి మండల కేంద్రం లో వున్న ప్రభుత్వ జానియర్ కాలేజీలో జూనియర్ లెక్చరర్ గా పని చేస్తున్నాడు.
రాఘవ ఇంటర్ తో చదువుకి స్వస్తి పలికి వ్యవసాయం చేస్తున్నాడు.
రాజారాం మెకానికల్ ఇంజనీరింగు ఫైనల్ ఇయర్ చదువుతున్నాడు.
ముగ్గురు అన్నదమ్ములు ఒకేమాట, ఒకే బాట అన్నట్లుగా వుంటారు. ఒకరంటే ఒకరికి ఎనలేని ప్రేమ. అనురాగాలకు, అనుబంధాలకు ఆ ఇల్లు ప్రత్యక్ష సాక్ష్యంగా నిలుస్తుంది.
ఉద్యోగం రాగానే రఘుపతికి పెళ్ళి చేసారు. విశాల డిగ్రీ చదివింది. ఉమ్మడి కుటుంబంలో పెద్దకోడలిగా బాగా కలిసిపోయింది.
రాఘవ, రాజా వదిన దగ్గర బాగా గారాలు పోతారు. ఏది కావలసిన ముందుగా వదినకే చెపుతారు.
విశాల కూడా వారి కోరికలను నవ్వుతూ నెరవేరుస్తుంది. తల్లి తండ్రులతో, అన్నతో పంచుకోలేని విషయాలను కూడా వదినతో చెపుతుంటారు.

రఘుపతి స్పెషల్ క్లాస్ తీసుకోవాలని ఉదయం ఎనిమిది గంటలకల్లా హీరో స్ప్లెండర్ ప్లస్ మీద కాలేజీకి వచ్చాడు.
బైక్ స్టాండ్ వేస్తుంటే గర్ల్స్ టాయిలెట్స్ దగ్గర పిల్లలు, పెద్దలు గుమిగూడి ఉండటం చూసాడు.
ఏమైందోనని ఆదుర్దాగా అటు నడిచాడు. సుమారు ఇరవై ఏళ్ళ యువతి నేలమీద బోర్లా పడివున్నది.
వంటి మీద బట్టలన్నీ చిరిగిపోయి అస్తవ్యస్తంగా చెదిరిపోయివున్నాయి.
దాదాపుగా అర్ధ నగ్నంగా కనిపిస్తున్న ఆమెను చూస్తూ ప్రక్కనున్న పెద్దమనిషి తలకు చుట్టుకొనివున్న తువ్వాలుని అడిగి తీసుకొని ఆమెపై కప్పాడు.
ఇంతలో పోలీసులు వచ్చారు.
గుంపును చెదరగొట్టి ఆ యువతి దగ్గరకు వెళ్ళారు.
ఒక కానిస్టేబుల్ ఆమె ముక్కు దగ్గర వేలు ఉంచి చూసాడు.
" సార్, ఈమె బ్రతికే వుంది. "
అన్నాడు SI తో.
SI వెంటనే 108 కు ఫోన్ చేసాడు.
పోలీసుల వెంట వచ్చిన కెమెరామెన్ ఆమెను ఫోటోలు తీస్తున్నాడు.
ఆ యువతిని ఎక్కడో చూసినట్లు అనిపించింది రఘుపతికి.
జ్ఞాపకం తెచ్చుకోవటానికి ప్రయత్నిస్తూ SI దగ్గిరకు వెళ్ళి విష్ చేసాడు.
"SI గారూ ఈమెను ఇంతకుముందు ఎక్కడో చూసినట్లు గుర్తు" అని అన్నాడు.
"ఎక్కడ చూసారు?" SI అడిగాడు.
రఘుపతి రెండు నిమిషాలు ఆలోచిస్తున్నట్లు ఉండిపోయాడు.
" ఆ గుర్తొచ్చింది. మా వూరి రైతు సీతయ్య బావమరిదితో కనిపించింది రెండుసార్లు. పెట్రోలు బంక్ దగ్గర ఒకసారి కనిపించింది. నేను పెట్రోల్ పోయించుకోవటానికి వెళ్ళినప్పుడు సీతయ్య బావమరిది శేషగిరి పెట్రోల్ బంక్ వాడితో గొడవపడుతున్నాడు.
అప్పుడు ఈమె శేషగిరి బండిపైన కూర్చొని కనిపించింది. మాములుగా అయితే అంత గుర్తుండేది కాదు. కానీ శేషగిరి గొడవకు అటు చూసిన నాకు ఈమె కనిపించింది.
శేషగిరి భార్య నాకు తెలుసు. ఈమెను చూసి ఎవరో బంధువులో, తెలిసిన వారో అనుకున్నాను. శేషగిరి నన్ను గమనించలేదు. రెండు మూడు నిమిషాలపాటు పెద్దగా అరచి అక్కడినుండి బండి తీసుకుని వెళ్ళిపోయాడు ఈమెతో పాటుగా.
రెండవసారి సినిమా హాల్లో కనిపించారు. మా ముందు వరుసలో కూర్చున్నారు వీరిద్దరూ. ఊళ్ళో సీతయ్యకు, మాకు పొలం సరిహద్దుల గురించి కొద్దిగా గొడవలున్నాయ్. అందుకే శేషగిరిని చూసినా పలకరించలేదు" చెప్పాడు రఘుపతి.
"శేషగిరిది ఏ వూరు?" అడిగాడు SI.
"గువ్వల పాలెం. ఎక్కువుగా అక్కగారింట్లో అంటే మావూరిలోనే ఉంటాడు. పిల్లలు లేరు. భార్య ఆ వూరిలో, ఇతను మావూరిలో.. జల్సా రాయుడని అందరూ అనుకుంటుంటే విన్నాను. అతనితో నాకు ఎక్కువ పరిచయం లేదు."
SI ప్రభాకర్ పోలీస్ స్టేషనుకు ఫోన్ చేసి వెంకటాయపాలెం, గువ్వలపాలెం లకు కానిస్టేబుల్స్ ను పంపించాడు.
శేషగిరి ఎక్కడున్నా పోలీస్ స్టేషనుకు తీసుకు రమ్మని.
108 వచ్చింది.
ఆ యువతిని పట్టుకొని లేపుతుంటే దగ్గరగా వెళ్ళి చూసాడు SI ప్రభాకర్. గొంతు నులిమినట్లుగా కంఠంపై కమిలిపోయిన గుర్తులున్నాయి.

స్టాఫ్ రూం లో పిల్లల నోట్సులు దిద్దుతున్న శ్రావణ్ కుమార్ దగ్గరకి అటెండర్ వచ్చి "సార్, మిమ్ములను ప్రిన్సిపాల్ గారు రమ్మంటున్నారు" అని చెప్పాడు.
శ్రావణ్ కుమార్ దిద్దుతున్న నోటుబుక్ ను మూసి ప్రిన్సిపాల్ రూం కు వెళ్ళాడు.
రూం లో తొమ్మిదవ తరగతి విద్యార్థులు విజయ్, రాజేష్, అనిల్ కనిపించారు. వారిని అక్కడ చూడగానే విషయం అర్ధమయింది శ్రావణ్ కుమార్ కు.
ప్రిన్సిపాల్ గారికి యెదురుగా వున్న కుర్చీల్లో ముగ్గురు వ్యక్తులు కూర్చొని వున్నారు.
ప్రిన్సిపాల్, శ్రావణ్ కుమార్ ను చూస్తూనే "రండి శ్రావణ్ కుమార్ గారూ.. ఇటు కూర్చోండి. వీరు విజయ్, రాజేష్, అనిల్ ల తండ్రులు. మీమీద ఒక కంప్లైంట్ వచ్చింది. అందుకే పిలిపించాను. " అన్నాడు.
శ్రావణ్ కుమార్ కుర్చీలో కూర్చొని పిల్లల వైపు చూసాడు.
శ్రావణ్ కుమార్ తమవైపు చూడగానే వాళ్ళు ముగ్గురూ తలదించుకుని నేలచూపులు చూసారు.
"నిన్న రాత్రి మీరు బాగా తాగి వచ్చి ఈపిల్లలను కొట్టారని పిల్లలు అంటున్నారు. పొద్దున్నే ఫోన్ చేసి వారి తండ్రులను పిలిపించుకున్నారు. వారు మీ మీద పై అధికారులకు ఫిర్యాదు చేస్తామంటున్నారు. పిల్లలను కొట్టినందుకు పోలీస్ స్టేషను లో కంప్లయింట్ చేస్తామంటున్నారు. మీ క్వార్టర్స్ లో వెతికితే మందు సీసాలు దొరుకుతాయని ఈ పిల్లలు గట్టిగా చెపుతున్నారు. నిజమేనా? దీనికి మీ సమాధానం ఏమిటి?"
ప్రిన్సిపాల్ ప్రశ్నించాడు శ్రావణ్ కుమార్ ను చూస్తూ..

'బంధాలు అనుబంధాలు 2/2' పెద్ద కథ

జరిగిన కథ:
అమెరికాలో స్థిరపడ్డ కృష్ణమూర్తి కొడుకు అరవింద్.
తండ్రి ఆఖరి దశలో అతనికి ఇండియాలో మరో భార్య ఉన్నట్లు అరవింద్ తో చెబుతాడు.
తనవాళ్ళని కలవమని తండ్రి చెప్పడంతో ఇండియాకి వస్తాడు అరవింద్.
ఇక బంధాలు అనుబంధాలు పెద్దకథ చివరి భాగం చదవండి.
ఇంతలో లోపలినుండి నడివయసు లో ఉన్న ఒకామె వచ్చి అరవింద్ ను చూసి "మామయ్యా, మామయ్యా.. ఇతను.. " అని సందేహంగా చూసింది అరవింద్ వంక.
"చిన్నప్పటి మీ ఫొటో లో వున్నట్లే ఉన్నాడు మామయ్య.. ఇతను.. ఇతను" అంటూ అరవింద్ వేపు తిరిగి "బాబూ నువ్వు అమెరికా నుండి వస్తున్నావా ?" అడిగింది ఆతురతతో ..
అరవింద్ కు అర్ధమయింది ఆమె తన పెద్దమ్మ రాధ అని.
"అవును అమ్మా" అన్నాడు ఆరవింద్ అప్రయత్నంగానే.
అంతే! 'బాబూ' అంటూ దగ్గరికివచ్చి అరవింద్ చేతిని పట్టుకుంటూ సంతోషంతో "మామయ్యా! మీ మనవడు" ఆంటూనే లోపలికి చూస్తూ 'అత్తయ్యా' అని కేకపెట్టింది.
ఇంట్లోవాళ్లకు నమ్మశక్యంగా లేదు అరవింద్ రాక.
"ముందు డ్రైవరు కు అన్నం పెట్టి పంపించండి" రామయ్యగారి మాటలకు ముందుగా బయటకి వచ్చి చూసిన అమ్మాయి, డ్రైవరు వద్దన్నా వినకుండా అతన్ని వంటగదిలోకి తీసుకెళ్లి అన్నం పెట్టింది.
డ్రైవరు అన్నం తిని శెలవు తీసుకుని వెళ్ళిపోయాడు.
అందరూ అరవింద్ చుట్టూ చేరారు. అప్పటివరకు అరవింద్ చేయి రాధ పట్టుకొనే వుంది.
"ముందు స్నానం చేసిరా బాబు. అవును ఇంతకూ నీపేరు.. " అంటూ కళ్లలో నీరు తిరుగుతుండగా ముఖం పక్కకు తిప్పుకున్నాడు కోదండరామయ్య.
ఆరవింద్ కు తాతయ్య బాధ అర్థమయింది.
పేరు పెట్టి నామకరణం చేయాల్సిన మనిషి పాతికేళ్ల మనవడిని పేరు అడిగి తెలుసుకోవాల్సి వచ్చిందనే బాధ..
ఆరవింద్ తాతయ్య భుజం మీద చేయి వేసి "తాతయ్యా ! నా పేరు ఆరవింద్" అన్నాడు.
రామయ్య ఇటు తిరిగి ప్రేమగా చూస్తూ కన్నీరు నిండిన కన్నులతో అరవింద్ ముఖాన్ని తృప్తిగా చూస్తూ నుదిటిపై ముద్దు పెట్టుకొన్నాడు.
ఆరవింద్ నాయనమ్మ దగ్గరకెళ్ళి "నానమ్మా" అంటూ వంగి కాళ్లకు నమస్కరించాడు.
అన్నపూర్ణ మనవడిని లేవనెట్టి కౌగిలిలో పొదుపుకున్నది కన్నీళ్లు నిండిన కనులతో.
ఆరవింద్ స్నానం చేసి రాగానే రాధ అన్నం కలుపుకుని వచ్చింది. అరవింద్ తింటానన్నా "నేను తినిపిస్తా బాబూ " అంటూ ముద్దలు చేసి పెట్టసాగింది.
ఆరవింద్ కు ఊహ తెలిసాక ఎవరూ ఇలా అన్నం తినిపించలేదు. అంతా క్రొత్తక్రొత్తగా, కలగా అనిపిస్తున్నది.
అన్నం తింటుండగానే
'మీ అత్తయ్య కూతురు శ్రీనిజ M. sc. అగ్రికల్చర్ చదువుతున్నది. సెలవలకి ఇక్కడికి వచ్చింది. ఈమె రాధ, నీకు పెద్దమ్మ. మీ అక్కయ్య ఖమ్మంలో వుంటున్నది. మీ బావ M. D. O గా చేస్తున్నారు. అక్కయ్యకు ఇద్దరు చిన్న పిల్లలు. L K G, U K G చదువుతున్నారు. మీ మామయ్య అడ్వకేటు గా పనిచేస్తున్నాడు. రేపు వస్తారు అందరూ. ఇప్పుడే ఫోన్ చేసి చెపుతా' అని పరిచయాలు కానిచ్చాడు రామయ్య.
అన్నం తినగానే రామయ్యగారు లక్ష్మికి, ప్రణవికి అరవింద్ వచ్చిన విషయం ఫోన్ చేసి చెప్పి రేపు ఉదయం రమ్మని చెప్పాడు.

'బంధాలు అనుబంధాలు 1/2' పెద్ద కథ మొదటి భాగం

"ఎంత టైమ్ పడుతుంది, ఖమ్మం చేరుకోటానికి ?"
వెనుక సీటు లో ఉన్న అరవింద్ డ్రైవర్ ని అడిగాడు.
"మూడున్నర లేదా నాలుగు గంటలు పడుతుంది. ట్రాఫిక్ ను బట్టి ఒక్కోసారి లేట్ అవుతుంది."
డ్రైవరు తలతిప్పకుండానే బదులిచ్చాడు.
అరవింద్ టైం చూసాడు. సాయంత్రం అయిదు. తొమ్మిదిలోపే ఖమ్మం చేరుకోవచ్చు అనుకున్నాడు. అక్కడినుండి వెంకటాయపాలెం 15 నిమిషాలు.. ట్రాఫిక్ తో లేట్ అయినా మొత్తం మీద పదింటికల్లా చేరుకోవచ్చు అనుకున్నాడు అరవింద్.
క్యాబ్ ORR మీద వేగంగా పరుగెడుతోంది. అరవింద్ సీటు వెనక్కు వాలి కళ్లు మూసుకున్నాడు.
తన రాకను తాతయ్య వాళ్లు ఎలా రిసీవ్ చేసుకుంటారోనని మనసంతా అదుర్దాగా వుంది. తను ఇండియా రావటం తల్లి కి అసలు ఇష్టం లేదు. కానీ ఇది నాన్న కోరిక.. చివరి కోరిక..
పుట్టినప్పటినుండి మొన్నమొన్నటివరకు నాన్న వైపు బంధువుల గురించి ఏమి తెలియదు.
అమ్మమ్మ, తాతయ్య అమెరికాలో స్థిరపడిన తెలుగువారు. అమ్మ శశికళ అమెరికాలోనే పుట్టిపెరిగింది.
నాన్న కృష్ణమూర్తి ఇండియా నుండి MS చేయటానికి అమెరికా వచ్చాడు. చదువు అయ్యాక మంచి జాబ్ వచ్చింది. అప్పుడే నాన్నకి అమ్మతో పరిచయం అయింది. ఇద్దరూ ప్రేమించుకొని పెళ్ళి చేసుకున్నారు. అయితే అమ్మ పెళ్లికి ఒక కండిషన్ పెట్టిందట. నాన్న ఇండియా కు వెళ్లరాదని, అక్కడి వాళ్ళతో సంబంధాలూ ఉండకూడదని. నాన్న ఒప్పుకున్నాడు. ఈ సంగతులన్నీ తను పెద్దయ్యాక నాన్న చెపితేనే తెలిసాయి.
అమ్మమ్మ, తాతయ్య పెళ్లికి అభ్యంతరం చెప్పలేదు.
అమ్మా, నాన్నలు ఇద్దరూ మంచి జాబ్స్ తో బాగానే సంపాదించారు. తను, చెల్లి అలక చదువులు అయిపోయి జాబ్స్ చేస్తున్నారు.
తను అమెరికా లో పుట్టిపెరిగినా తనకు అమెరికా కల్చర్ అంతగా నచ్చలేదు. చెల్లెలు మాత్రం అమెరికా కల్చర్ బాగా వంటబట్టించుకొంది. అప్పటికే ముగ్గురు బాయ్ ఫ్రెండ్స్ తో డేటింగ్ చేసి నచ్చక వారిని వదిలి ఒక నీగ్రోను పెళ్ళి చేసుకుంటానని చెప్పింది. నాన్న వద్దన్నాడు. కానీ అలక వినలేదు. ఇద్దరూ అరుచుకున్నారు.
అప్పుడే నాన్నకు మొదటిసారిగా మైల్డ్ హార్ట్ స్ట్రోక్ వచ్చింది. హాస్పిటల్ లో జాయిన్ చేసారు. వాల్వ్ లు మూసుకుపోయాయని స్టంట్ వేయాలని అన్నారు డాక్టర్లు. నాన్న ముఖం లో ఏదో చెప్పలేని బాధ. ఎందుకో బాగా ఆందోళనగా ఉన్నాడు.
తెల్లవారి హాస్పిటల్ కు వెళ్ళినప్పుడు నాన్న రెండు లెటర్స్ నాచేతిలో ఉంచి చెప్పాడు.
'తనకేమన్నా అయితే ఆ లెటర్స్ పోస్టు చేయమన్నాడు ' ఒక్క క్షణం ఆగి 'అమ్మకు చెప్పవద్దు ' అని చిన్నగా అన్నాడు.
నాన్నను ఆపరేషన్ రూం లోకి తీసుకెళ్లాక ఆ లెటర్స్ పై అడ్రస్ చూసాను.
ఇండియా అడ్రసు..
ఆ లెటర్స్ ను నా బాగ్ లో వుంచాను.
నాలుగు రోజుల తరువాత నాన్న క్షేమంగా ఇంటికి వచ్చాడు.
ఆ రోజు రాత్రి నాన్న నా గదికి వచ్చాడు.
