一组非常丰富的音乐家阵容：年过七旬的芝加哥 B3 风琴传奇老手 Dr. Lonnie Smith, 20岁的加州新秀 Telemakus, 能量感十足的 Misc 和 Bear Garden, 钻研录音技术的怪才瑞士鼓手 Arthur Hnatek, 还有澳大利亚的电影作曲家、小提琴家 Tamil Rogeon - 这次他把手中乐器换成了中提琴，不同的音域和音色，带来了截然不同的气质。
Tamil 的新作让人想起另外一位风格横跨爵士与电子的小提琴手，来自德国的 Johanna Burnheart. 我也特意从她的第一张个人专辑甄选一曲，放进了歌单。辅以瑞士吉他手 Roberto Pianca 和挪威钢琴家 Kjetil Mulelid 的两首清淡小品作为点缀，即便你对爵士乐或者 "nu-jazz" 的概念并无深入了解，这期节目依然丰俭由人，异彩纷呈。
最后重点推荐的专辑是 "Indaba Is", 一张集结多位南非爵士、根源音乐人的合辑。这是歌手 Siyabonga Mthembu 提出的一个策划——他的灵感便来自 Brownswood Recordings 2018年挖掘伦敦地下爵士乐的合辑 "We Out Here": 将音乐人召集到一起，在限定时间内录完全部作品。虽然参与者各自带自己的创作，录音过程却颇有创作营的感觉，自然也少不了即兴碰撞出的新火花。
2019年 Siyabonga 跟随 Shabaka and the Ancestors 巡演到伦敦的时候，向 Brownswood Recordings 发起了提案。2020年的疫情意外地给了他充足的策划时间，在夏天伦敦疫情稍有好转、管控放松时，参与的南非音乐家齐聚伦敦，用10天时间完成了录制。除了约翰内斯堡这样的文化重镇，来自比勒陀利亚的音乐人也加入其中，在有限的篇幅内，尽可能多地展示了“南非传统音乐+爵士乐”的可能性。
