SAMPLE-Born Under A Bad Sign
PRE-SAVE & D/L LINKS ☛☛ https://onerpm.link/815615793497 A big, bold version of the blues classic, Ava takes the WHOLE stage here: with an aggressive power lead vocal, equally gritty, searing saxophone riff and solo, as well as three soulful backing vocals, give this both a bright sound, with a vintage soul roundness. Absolutely a stunner in the digital age, with NO auto-tune required nor used!

SAMPLE Winter Song
"Winter Song" at times sounds like an instrumental that might have been made by #BrianFerry or #RoxyMusic with it's swirling, sultry harmonizing saxophone lines that phase in, around, and above each other. It's as if they are lovers in a dance, very dream-like, with an intoxicating, driving tom-drum beat behind them. Chill, but also, intensely passionate.

SAMPLE- Lover Boy
>>>> OUT NOW>>>> https://ffm.to/loverboy_ava To all the people out there that comment, "They just don't make real music anymore," I want you to know that we are, you just don't see us on the awards shows! It doesn't mean it's no good, it's just not the trend. I don't auto-tune, I don't rap, I love harmony, a good melody, rich instrumentation, and a sexy sax riff or two! If you feel me, then, have I got some music to share with you!

SAMPLE - Breaking Away
*** https://ffm.to/breakingaway_ava *** RELEASING ON TUES. JUNE 21! More than a title for the song, "Breaking Away" aptly describes Ava Lemert's new direction for her music making. In this song, she flexes her vocal, and production chops, "Breaking Away" from the misconception that she is simply a "jazz saxophonist." Ava also recorded, mixed, and mastered the song herself in her Citrus Heights studio, My Blue Heaven. "Breaking Away" is a rather obscure song from 1981 by the band, Balance. Ava's version of the energetic, 80s rocker, has a bit faster tempo, great for exercising to, and six vocal harmonies, all...

A CONVERSATION WITH AVA LEMERT
Ava has 9 albums/EPs and over 30 singles. Ava's music has been considered for several Grammy Awards, has won or been nominated for many other awards for her music and as a live performer since she began releasing music independently in 2009. A native of Southern California, Ava Lemert was submerged in music from birth having a Mother and two elder sisters who were active musicians in the household to influence her. So, it was no surprise that by age 7, Ava was producing her own “radio programs” including her own DJ personna “Kay Kay Dee Jay” on her own cassett...

Jubilee
Bouncy, funky, and catchy. Ava shows off her alto and tenor saxophone chops on this peppy instrumental groove. Featured on this track is the phased, funky clavinet by Wil Blades ( https://soundcloud.com/wil-blades ), an internationally-acclaimed master of the B-3 organ. The hook, with the 70’s throwback string hits, and four-part saxophone riff will stick with you and get your toes tapping along. “Jubilee” celebrates the 100th year of Selmer Saxophones, Ava’s beloved horns of choice. It might remind one of the great instrumentals from George Benson, or Barry White’s Love Unlimited Orchestra.

Louis' Funk (Very Hornee Mix)
NEW MIX! And since I added more sax parts, it's the "Very Hornee Mix" this is just a fun track, it's even got pop and hiss from a turn table to give it that vintage 45 vibe! This will get you... happy... everything else, is UP to you (wink).

Big Horn Blues
**** BUY ON BANDCAMP HERE: https://avalemert.bandcamp.com/track/big-horn-blues *** ABOUT "BIG HORN BLUES" It would be understandable to envision that it's a man, playing those sultry notes on the Big Horn, but it's a woman just over five feet tall! Big sounds, reverent nods to the great blues and jazz club eras of the past, brought into 2022 with a new artist, and a fresh energy for today. Ava Lemert, is not only the woman behind the big, bluesy, brooding saxophone on "Big Horn Blues," but she is also the "one-woman" jazz trio behind the melody. Ava wrote, produced, recorded...

Take It Easy
!!!! FEBRUARY 2022 BEST COVER SONG AWARD-WINNER !!!! https://www.theakademia.com/awards/2022/AvaLemert-TakeItEasy-0000351989.html A cover from the mid-80s, I've wanted to do this song for so long, it's not even funny! I have the original 45 still. With sequencing by Nelson Guimaraes, the original male vocal with guitar solos, is now transformed into my special signature arrangement with my tenor sax supplying the riffs and middle 8 solo, and lead vocal plus 6 harmony backing vocals by me :-) too! So much fun, I'll update this when the track comes out and I have a pre-save and buy link to share!

Learn To Say No
Resurrected from 1987! Why this wasn't a bigger hit when it was originally released by Jody Whatley and George Michael at the time, I don't know! I heard it on YouTube and thought, "Wow, another fantastic sleeper from the 80's to go with 'Take It Easy', I gotta do a version of this!" So, here you have it, my own "spin" (bad turntable pun, I know)on the song, this time, the duet is me and Smokey the sax!

Today Is My Day!
!!! FEBRUARY 2022 BEST POP SONG AWARD-WINNER !!! https://www.theakademia.com/awards/2022/AvaLemert-TodayIsMyDay-0000351988.html This is as of today, my favorite song that I've written! "Today Is My Day!" was re-imagined after being discovered on an old cassette tape of demo songs I made nearly 30 years ago! It has a new theme, new lyrics, a whole new middle 8 section, and a very different sound and production! Let me know if you'd be interested in hearing the old original, it's rough, but might be interesting to hear where some of my old songs that I've "rebirthed" since my return to my music-making, sound...

Wastin' Time
This original came together so fast, that I wrote the lyrics down AFTER I cut the first "test" lead vocal! I love it when something comes together in a bolt of lightning. I did very little to change it, I find, usually, in creating songs, artwork, or other "passion" projects, that reworking tends to wreck the energy of the product. Not sure how to really word what I'm thinking, I hope you catch my meaning. Anyway, I think this is more a "Funk Rock" than "R&B/Soul" would you agree? Categorizing is always the TOUGHEST part of releasing music...

DEMO_GotToUseMyImagination
Another live audience favorite! This is my own arrangement. Back in 2006 I brought this song to a big cover band I was the "girl singer" in. Many years later, as my producing and studio skills developed, I decided it was time to finally do my own version of this Gladys Knight and the Pips barn burner!

SAMPLE-Shake_Rattle_&_Roll
Back to the original... I've loved Big Joe Turner's "Shake, Rattle and Roll" since I was a baby, and my folks would play some of their albums around the house. After all this time, I'm so happy to be able to do this song the way it was written, not the Bill Haley or Pat Boone ones...blechhh. The innuendo-laced original, with a YUGE bari sax solo in the middle by Mr. Turner! Big vocal, big beat, all fun. I hope you like my loving tribute, bringing it back to the real. No auto tune, all saxes (2 alto, 2 tenor) and...

What The World Needs Now
UPDATED: October 2, 2017. I don't know what to say. The only thing that can overcome the violence and murder is love. I want to rededicate this to those who have been lost, those who lost their loved-ones and in deep love for the people in uniform who rush to help and save innocent people, those who were called to help, many innocent bystanders who had the love of their fellow humankind to stay and help, risking everything for the love of strangers. Only our love can bind the wounds that will never fully heal. When there seems to be so much...

Do You Want To Know A Secret
Happy Birthday @GeorgeHarrison February 25th! I created a recording of one of my favorite songs of his. It is one of the first Beatles albums I owned as a kid, born after the group had disbanded, but I love all his music, from these early "touring" years to the time that he went Home. #ThankYouGeorge for inspiring a dorky little California girl to pursue my love of writing and recording music, exploring harmony and the fullness of life in this great big Universe. You are so loved, forever...

Talking Smooth Jazz
AVA LEMERT
Her debut CD "From My Soul" has something for everyone, with stirring soulful vocal showcases such as "Won't Be Your Plaything" to the surprising amped funk masterpiece "I Wanna Funk It Up." The latter features funkadelic vocal and saxophone effects, reminiscent of Zapp and Roger, Prince or the Isleys. You'll want to dim the lights as the album turns seductive with Ava's luscious tenor saxophone on the aptly-named "Soft and Silky".
