He is one of most handsome Marathi heros appeared on the silver screen. His brother Suryakant was also a famous actor. He later devoted his life to paitings and art and donated his bungalow “Nisarg” and all his paintings to the Government of Maharashtra to start a museum. He died on 17 February 2001.
