Сегодняшний выпуск завершает отклонение от мейнстрима этого проекта; сначала два не попавших в прошлую подборку американских стихотворения: знаменитое “Елене” Эдгара По (он, впрочем, так мало стихов написал, что они все знаменитые, ну, может, “Ворон” знаменитее прочих) и стишок Симпсона, описывающий последние дни Антония и Клеопатры. *** Три французских стихотворения, из которых два — “Альбатрос” в переводе Левика и “На берегу моря” в переводе Гумилева — здесь уже появлялись. “Осеннюю песню” Верлена переводили на русский и Сологуб, и Брюсов, и Волошин, и Ревич, и Гелескул, и многие другие; мне очень нравится вариация Кирсанова “Осень”, которая начинается фонетическим переложением первых трех строк: “Лес окрылен, / веером — клен. / Дело в том…” *** Два итальянских стихотворения; первое — один из самых знаменитых сонетов Петрарки, и страшно подумать, что оригинал написан в середине XIV века. Стихотворение Леопарди тоже очень знаменитое, и удивительно своей верлибрической формой в такие ранние времена — в России тогда верлибр тоже уже появлялся (у Жуковского, например), но это уж совсем была экзотика. Впрочем, когда Петрарка был шестьсот лет назад, можно уже все. *** Два сербских стихотворения; “Сыч” Десанки Максимович в переводе Бродского — довольно точном, только в оригинале нет бешеных анжамбманов, как в переводе — уже появлялся в проекте. Стихотворение Давичо посвящено (как понятно только из заголовка) философу и революционеру Светозару Марковичу (1846–1875), арестованному за свои неортодоксальные взгляды и проведшему в заключении восемь месяцев (вместо назначенных восемнадцати — по состоянию здоровья; вскоре после освобождения он умер от туберкулеза). Эта трагическая история послужила основой для мощного стихотворения, в котором повторяется снова и снова мысль, что однажды все будет хорошо. Но Маркович-то уже этого не увидит. *** Два хорватских стихотворения. Про Цесарича я когда-то писал курсовую работу, хотя что именно — понятия не имею. “Барбара” Сламнига очень известна в Хорватии, думаю, главным образом благодаря (хорошей) песне. Кончается она последней строчкой из L’infinito Леопарди (в оригинале) — это случайно так получилось, в смысле у меня, не у автора. *** Два польских стихотворения. Про “Будрыса и его сыновей” в собрании сочинений Пушкина сказано, что это “вольный перевод”; ничего себе вольный! да более точного перевода во всей русской поэзии еще поискать. *** Два словенских стихотворения. Прешерна я тоже много переводил, это такой словенский Пушкин; словенцы как-то его особенно чтят за венок сонетов, но на мой взгляд это совсем не лучшие его стихи. С Новаком я познакомился в свое время, он, кажется, даже вел семинар, в котором я участвовал. Это вот “Бдение” я напоролся случайно и поразился: какое сильное стихотворение. *** Два португальских стихотворения; Пессоа пишет про “португальское море”, но это все, конечно, не более чем воспоминания об имперских днях, когда папа римский поделил весь мировой океан (и все, что в нем) между испанцами и португальцами. У меня есть футболка с портретом Пессоа и строками из этого стихотворения: “Стоило оно того? Все того стоит, когда душа не маленькая!” Ну, будем надеяться.
