Seit neun Jahren war er da schon eng mit der hr-Bigband verbandelt, hat viele atemberaubende Projekte gemacht. Für dieses Projekt holte er Stücke hervor, die ihm immer etwas bedeutet haben und hat sie neu arrangiert, inspiriert unter anderem durch Branford Marsalis, Joe Zawinul und John Coltrane. Mit diesen Stücken gab es ein Abschiedskonzert für den langjährigen Bassisten Thomas Heidepriem, der sich im April des gleichen Jahres in den Ruhestand verabschiedete. (Sendung vom 9.11.)

А так же люди родившиеся там имеют в крови джазовые корни, поэтому когда становятся музыкантами притягивают себе подобных. У них чувство свинга есть с детства и когда они собираются вместе им легко понять друг-друга. Даже в оркестре им не нужен дирижер. Нам здорово повезло слушать Uptown Jazz Orchestra, где практически все музыканты родом от туда. Я обозревал предыдущий альбом этого оркестра, где рассказ был о самом большом фестивале этого города Mardy Gras Day (Масленица). И еще более ранний альбом Jazz Party, где рассказывал о традициях орлеанцев и где принимали участие другие братья Марсалис. Поэтому увидев новую обложку, сразу добавил в очередь на прослушку и мои ожидания оправдались. Crescent City Jewels - Драгоценности города Луны - новый альбом этого замечательного коллектива созданного в 2008 году одним из братьев джазменов тромбонистом Delfeayo Marsalis. В записи так же принимал участие саксофонист Branford Marsalis. Всех участников биг-бэнда я отмечу в публикации подкаста в моем Телеграм канале (ниже). Jeff Watts, the drummer they call "Tain," spent his formative years with Wynton and Branford Marsalis, and his compositional skills now command equal attention.
