費根致力透過演講和寫作，向一般大眾推廣考古學知識，編有《牛津考古學指南》（The Oxford Companion to Archaeology），是進入考古學的最佳讀物。費根的著作等身，更有多部著作已在台灣出版，包含《聖嬰與文明興衰》、《法老王朝》、《古文明七十發明》等，其中《漫長的夏天》和《歷史上的大暖化》結合了考古學知識與費根對氣候變遷的關注，更是暢銷經典。
